Honorable Kills.

Legend
I've seen people with 100k+ HK's, and it says in statistics that only half of them are from WSG? I want to know where these people are getting all these extra HK's.

Well, those players will have probaly got the unshowed kills before the release of ''achievements.'' Meaning if you had like 50000 kills before WOTLK, the system cannot track where you got those kills from, and so it wont specify them in a category.

Yet it will show them as total kills, because it can track the amount, just not the source.

So in most cases, if you see someone with 100000HK's, and only 50000 are showed as gained in WSG, he got the other half before WOTLK...

Atleast, thats how I think it works, aint to sure... But seems like this.

Im not vieing this via achievements, but the statistics, maybe youre right idk but it just really confused me .

As said earlier the introduction of tracking HKs + achievements was only introduced in WOTLK. twinks who had hks racked up before may not have them recorded in the stats tab.

To add to this, some people also farmed horde friends for HKs for the title. Prolly not as common as having gotten the kills pre-wotlk. You can check to see the dates on some of thier achieves such as when they hit level 10 to see if it was during the begining of wotlk for when achievements came out.

Before shattering patch, You could just farm them on level ones via making a trial and just killing that same toon over and over again. Repetitive? Yeah, but many people farmed them on level ones, and then leveled to 19, which is where many non wsg honorable kills may have come from

I broke 100k kills without farming at level 1 or ever playing Wintersgrasp. The Achievement system didnt come out until late 2008, and this game has been out since late 2004 - that gives 4 years to aquire kills without them being tracked.

Not uncommon.

Good question that I expect most of the experienced members to respond too.

Arena HK's counted when arena's were playable. So while WSG's didn't pop until the afternoon random arenas would pop all day long. 1-2Hk's every arena pop would add up. Some people with two accounts could also farm hk's endlessly if they had their two character meet and flag for world pvp to get a kill. Very easy to rack up the numbers if you wanted to find a way. I had a couple HK's on Deathnights from Gurubashi arena as well.

You can easily track theses fakes because all their honorable kills will be in the "world kills" section. Afaik the level 1 hk grinding crap was born after wotlk came out, so you can see their fakeness in their stats. As someone stated above another way is to see if they hit whatever honorable kills achievements before their lvl 10 achievement, which also proove they are fake.

In the same way you can differanciate an old school pvp character to a post achievements/stats/wotlk one. A old school one will be what the OP describes, "missing hks". A late bloomer will have the total amount accountable.
