Please Give any Suggestions or tips or
Spell Rotation...
I'm just mashing buttons and hoping the tank doesn't die.
Downloaded HealBot but it doesnt seem to help much.
maybe its lack of knowledge.
Please help!
I didn't put this in questions because I hoping maybe it will teach more than just me...
On how to be a good and effective healer.
Instances it seems primarily i'm only healing the tank, so maybe
there is 2 different roations i instance and one BG maybe a third for Arenas

Thanks

A lot depends on the group. Is the tank holding aggro like he should? Does he have enough HP not to get globaled by a boss or multiple trash mobs? Are the DPS classes not being retarded?

I've never really used a rotation more than use Holy Shock whenever it's off the cooldown and try to save Word of Glory for when you have 3 holy power
A lot of instances, I was healing with nothing more than Holy Shock & Word of Glory
I've also found it pretty effective to spam Holy Light on the tank during boss fights if you're undergeared and inexperienced with healing as a holy paladin
As I'm sure you're probably already aware, don't even think of touching Exorcism

**Very important: Flash of Light should only be used in emergencies, when someone needs a big heal fast or when multiple party members are being beat down; it should not be your first choice for healing spells. It consumes way too much mana.**

But here's what I do now that I'm a lot more familiar with playing a holy paladin:
-First, check the HP of everyone in your party. This way, you'll know how much healing people need. Sometimes, a non-crit Holy Shock can heal someone for half their health; better to use that than to waste a Flash of Light to heal that person when things get crazy.
-Now, here's the fun part. You get to pretend to be a melee DPS as holy. Crusader Strike will get you to 3 holy power quicker for the big Word of Glory heal. Holy Shock is up to you whether you want to use it for damage or for healing. Judgement will help refill your mana. In a smooth run with everyone performing how they should, you should be able to run the entire dungeon without even needing to drink up.
-When the sh*t hits the fan, you're probably gonna have to start using Flash of Light. (the reason I don't like using it in dungeons is that it drains your mana pretty quickly) Keep an eye on how much and how quickly people are taking damage and keep a mental note of how much holy power you have. A 3-point Word of Glory heals for almost as much as Flash of Light and it's instant cast with no cooldown, so you can save someone from dying with a 3-point Word of Glory as opposed to spending the time casting Flash of Light. Sometimes that 1.5 seconds can mean the difference that saves that person from dying. If you can spare the time, hit the mobs with Crusader Strike to build holy power faster. Another thing I would do is turn on Righteous Fury and try to steal aggro from the more squishy members of the party. Since Protector of the Innocent will heal you whenever you heal someone else, you can keep yourself alive by healing your party.

This is all I can think of for the moment. A lot of being able to do well is to learn by doing. Once you get more familiar with playing your holy paladin, you'll naturally start to develop a playing style that works for you.

-roll Holy Shock to keep yourself in combat
-Keep Judgement of the Pure up
-Mash buttons and hope people don't die
???

probably the easiest healing class in terms of f2p

Dont forget about emote spamming at that poor rogue trying to kill you for the last 10 mins or so with no success at all. That's essential to be considered a decent holy pala

Keep Judgement of the Pure up
Keep Holy Shock on cooldown at all times, even when you aren't fighting; this will keep your holy charges up to 3(for WoG)
FoL when ever WoG and Holy Shock wont do

Two of your six posts I've seen have been negative over-generalizations, you should avoid those. Many rogues spam emotes in stealth, but I would never say all rogues do. So, play nice or don't play at all =]

That's pretty much what you want.

Healing for Beginners - a Guide for Warcraft Priests & Druids
How to heal in Battlegrounds

Those should help too but the best thing to do is to just do it. You'll learn as you go and it can be hard at first but I think it's the best way.

Edit: Neither of the guides are ideal but they both have info that I think is good =]

Sadly, after spending so many of my BGs gy camped by emote spamming alliance hunters and pallies, I have developed a different viewpoint than you. Hope to see you around in bgs, it was always fun playing against you on my retired rogue

Thank you for the info
and thanks Rhae for the post

There is also a thread and accompanying video somewhere on the forums here detailing mouseover macros for healing. Really makes things so much easier since you don't have to manually target someone to heal them. Allows you to keep your enemy targeted as well for a judgement or clutch HoJ. The video is also very well done and makes setting things up easy. It takes a little bit of time to get used to but once you do you can pretty much heal anything.

There it is! Phe is pretty pro so anything she says there is usually spot on.

The thing that defines good pvp healers is foresight. everythinginthis bracket can d to some hunters in a few globals, so you have to land those big heals right as they will start doing damage. Start casting flash the instant you see someone take damage. Keep mobile with holy shock and word.Always be rolling flash pre casts, and you'll do well.

Simple and true.

I also use crusader strike (in addition to shocks) to generate charges when I'm convinced I will get CSed/kicked using FoL. You can't keep FC up forever only using shock and WoG, but I hate being kicked using FoL and seeing FC die.

Even though there aren't that many rogues or mages that know how to interrupt there are a few out there and since that is the case you need to know how to fake cast.

That's a really good video. Most players in battlegrounds will be passive or aggressive.

You now how I fakecast? I just start casting "hearthstone" and since animation looks like a healing spell, believe me almost 90 percent of rogues fall for that trick. That just makes me lol whenever they kick "hearthstone" and I can proceed with healing for 10 secs. Damn, I shouldn't have told about this secret, now I am going to die much more :D. But I still have other secrets up my sleeve lol

or Tonga's Totem.

Does this really work? I can't imagine that rogues are stupid enough not to look at the kind of spell they want to kick. Or are there any casts with confusing names?
