Holy Paladin Shoulders - Looking for Input

Hi, I'm pretty new to TI and would like to hear some opinions, if you don't mind.

I play a holy pally most of the time, and I'm far from done with gearing and playing around with my equipment sets.



I'd like to hear from some people, why do you prefer Pristine Lightforge Spaulders over Aged Pauldrons of The Five Thunders in a BG?

Why is the +71 Armor and +4 Crit rating worth the -1 Resil, -1 Int, and -1 Stam to you?



On my current emergency FC'ing set, if completely unbuffed:

	Pristine Lightforge Spaulders	Aged Pauldrons of The Five Thunders
Armor: physical damage reduced by	47%	46.03%
Spell Crit	13.67%	12.48%
Resilience: damage from players or pets reduced by	6.86%	7.37%
Mana	1377	1392
HP	1494	1504
Spell Power	115	116

So, a tradeoff:



- 1% physical dmg reduction

- 1.2% Spell Crit



for



- 0.5% damage reduction from Resilience

- 15 mana

- 10 hp



I would say the 0.5 is about equal, if not better, than the 1% armor reduction. However, 1.2% Spell crit appeals to me more than that redicilious small and negligible amount of mana and hp. I would say they are actually about the same.

The same reason i use shield of talrendis, crit is king in this bracket. Things are so bursty, that a crit hs exo or wog could make or break a fight.

Have been wearing both of them on and off and hadn't noticed a clear advantage to either, and so I was a bit stumped at the obvious preference for the yellow monstrosities way cooler looking ones. Will wear them exclusively for a while, and try to get a fitting gold mog until I find MM. I might just shamelessly steal Goldendays' look.

I use the lightforge over MM anyways. The crit, armor and resil are a better tradeoff than the stam imho. I am a bit of an armor value ***** though. This is my current gear set up.

Aaah. Forgot to even consider the Mystical Pauldrons of Elements. Might be iffy because of no resil, but shouldn't have ignored them. Thanks!

Thank you! But I'm stupendously horrible at times, too, depending on concentration. And because I don't like sucking, I want to at least throw on the right gear at the right time.

I don't think you can wear those bracers and claim to be playing like a FTP.

Anything available to F2P can be considered F2P, and I have seen a couple of those wrists in chests. Quite common and easy to get. Probably easier than looking on AH on some servers.

As far as the shoulders go, you can also TM the mail ones, not that horde get a whole lot of choice there, and even alliance only get one slightly different looking ones. The problem with wearing nice shiny gold ones is that it marks you as a healer which is basically asking me to kill you first.
