Help with Transmog

So I must be missing something completely obvious but could someone tell me how you guys are getting higher level transmogs on your toons?

i.e. what ilvl gear can a lvl 19 (or 20) use for transmog?

Is there an existing thread or guide I can refer too?

At 19/20 u can use transmog gear before 2.0.0 ( so any item from classic/ vanilla )

To add to what Shinyhero said it's basically any set from levels 1 - 58. Also cosmetic items such as Bloodsail Admiral's Hat, Crown of the Fire Festival, etc.

I believe there’s a vendor in area 52 that sells replica versions of the pvp gear

You cannot transmog legacy pvp gear on your 19 unless you have reached a personal rating of 1800 or more in RBG on a main, which will allow you to purchase the replica gear off a vendor in area 52. You will be able to transmog into the replica gear.

Other than that, you will basically be able to transmog into any classic (vanilla) item fit for your armor and weapon types, with some exceptions (bugs I would guess), that allows certain items outside of that, like some random Uldum quest items for instance, etc.
