Heirloom Items in Cataclysm

Does this mean every BiS will be an heirloom item?

Well, we know there are going to be new quests, but don't know how good they will be. I'm assuming the heirloom items wont be completely BiS, but rather an alternative for people wanting to try a different setup.

Gratz.

Well, if every slot has to be an Heirloom item then Blizz wins. Sure you are twinking and not moving forward, but to be the best you need to actually level up a character and raid. They already do that now, but once you get the BiS you need, you are set. Now you will need to go back to the grind.

I just hope they are not all BiS and that the new quests give more options for gear.

Yeah, I couldn't stand being like every other twink with full heirloom gear. It wouldn't make it as fun.

Full Heirloom Twink?

I smell set bonuses coming.

Something interesting I read...

b. Reforging

- allows Tailor to modify cloth gear, Leatherworkers to modify leather, etc.; Specifically, they can reduce a single statistic on applicable items and convert the lost points into another stat not already on the item; this service can also be provided to other players if you see fit

For example, lets take the [item]Defias Blackened Armor[/item] or the [item]Inferno Robe[/item] wouldn't this mean that we could actually have pure stam sets now? Or what about the [item]Toughened Leather Armor[/item] or how about the [item]Ring of Scorn[/item] on a level 10 or [item]Wingblade[/item] or the [item]Dawnblade[/item]!?!?!?! OR WHAT ABOUT THE [ITEM]Crescent Staff[/item] or the [item]Green Tinted Goggles[/item]

heirloom items tend to scale to be equivalent to end game blues by the time you reach 80. They won't be BiS in all slots, but they will be better than most blues that aren't level 19 already.

If they made full heirloom set available i'd play level 10-19 in exp bg's then delete and do it again.

this too. and it does concern me, if blizz is so apprehensive to losing their nontwinking BG community at lower lvls they should be well prepared for how much harder they will be rolled by full heirloom twinks.

Sounds like it, but I will need to see more about this before I can give my judgment on it. If it does work like FCs will be even huger walls of Stam.

~Zuty

I dont think so, you will only be able to convert stats to a stat that isnt already on the item, there are very few opportunities for this for an FC, maybe cookies tenderizer could be converted to stam or something but i dont see huge leaps in hp

Yuck. Also the guild tax system is interesting.

I, personally don't like this addition because if all heirloom items are BiS, then every twink will look the same.

I personally don't want heirloom hats at all, because I like the looks of the fishing hat :/

keep in mind Lucky Fishing Hat is ilevel 40, so I doubt the heirloom helms would rival its stats. They would be a nice place to pick up extra ap/sp tho

At Blizzcon, the devs said that the tax system would be in place for raiding guilds. They said that the tax wouldn't subtract from each player's amount of gold looted, but instead, a bonus would be going into the guild fund.
