Haste focused survival hunter

Haste is technically Survival's best secondary at higher levels due to Mongoose Bite, which doesn't stay true on our bracket for obvious reasons. That being said, though, it is a fairly overlooked stat that people often deem to be useless. While I don't have a fully decked out Haste build on my 20 Survival, I can say that Haste is more useful than a lot of us give it credit for. I have 15% Haste on my Hunter (11% in BG's), which goes up to 32% when I pop one Drum of Fury (27% in BG's). The difference is quite significant, as my rotation smoothens out considerably (GCD reduction) and my Focus regenerates faster. Pet attack speed is also affected by haste, as well as their focus regeneration. Kill Command also benefits decently, meaning an increment to your focus regeneration (and a damage boost if you take Alpha Predator) as it will be used more often. Multi-dotting becomes much more efficient with a faster Focus regeneration rate. It also makes Elemental Force (I don't use EF anymore, but I have a lot of enchantment scrolls for the sake of testing) procs happen more often due to the reduced GCD and increased attack speed. Overall it is a good stat, albeit probably not stronger than Mastery (this is funny because at higher levels our mastery is literally dogshit).

As for Armory, Almðnd is probably the only Survival player I know of that has somewhat of a focus on Haste, with a couple feverflare pieces and some 2 agi/2 haste gems. Most of us are rocking full Harmonious (or any mastery suffix when missing Harmonious pieces) with either 2 agi/2 stam or 2 agi/2 crit gems.

Back on Haste, yeah, it is not as bad as we initially thought it to be. I don't know how much of it is ideal, but neglecting it entirely doesn't seem to be too great either. But oh well, it is always up to preference anyways. To each their own.

Almond rocks haste for the rot damage to top charts though, not that it isn’t good
Yeah, I know. Haste isn't bad, it is just severely eclipsed by the heavy mastery stacking we have atm since our mastery is so valuable on this bracket. That ends up leading people to overlook Haste and ignore discussing its benefits.

Before I go any further I just need to know how aware you are of the value of survival hunters mastery?

I know pretty much nothing about this bracket. I just started yesterday and havn't played retail since start of bfa. But I know what mastery does. I just wanna see how a completely haste focused set compares.

Good reply!
How does it feel to play the haste build compared to your normal gear?
It's a decent armory, but what I'm imagining is waayyy more focused on haste.

As I said, I don't have a fully decked out Haste build. What I have are some placeholder Feverflare (haste/mastery suffix) pieces I use because I wasn't lucky enough to get full socketed Harmonious and also some drums of fury for on-demand Haste. I've also party synced with my other Hunter (I have a level 40 one) at 29 with a Ferocity pet in order to have access to Primal Rage (30% global haste) and see for myself just how much value a massive haste boost would have. I don't know what it feels like to play a fully decked out Haste build, but I know that having a ton of Haste is extremely fun and make you feel really good, especially if using Primal Rage on a bracket that otherwise wouldn't have it. With it active, I had about 46% Haste on my synced Hunter. I also had access to Aspect of the Eagle. With both Primal Rage and Aspect of the Eagle active at the same time, I can't describe how fun it was to just spam ranged Raptor Strikes like a madlad while watching the eagle animation flying to melt stuff. It was just pure bliss!

Is the green pieces of the harmonious BIS?
Seems like it'll be a bitch to farm on a f2p <,<
Yeah, socketed ilvl 28 pieces with tertiary stats are what is considered BiS for now. Although some folks will argue that BiS is subjective and depends on how one wants to build one's character... but yeah.

Also they're not available for f2p players as you would need either one out of a level 24 or a level 25 character in order to be able to farm them. As a f2p, you can get ilvl 28 BoE greens only in Drustvar or Nazmir, but they are level 25 zones (which makes it a bit of a hassle to do, although not terribly overwhelming) and they don't have rings and necklaces included in their loot table. If you try to farm green BoE's outside of these two zones on a level 20, the items will be ilvl 22 instead of ilvl 28.

@Edit: The socketed pieces from TBC are farmed in... guess what? Yeah, TBC dungeons! Just check the adventure journal and browse through the dungeons to see what dungeon drops what and plan what you need.

Good luck, but there is a small issue... Chromie Time isn't available for full f2p accounts, so if you've never had game time on that account before, you will need to walk into the dungeons physically. Or you can party with a subbed account that can queue it.

Note that the the thing making TBC good is the sockets, so as f2play your options are either limited or alotta work.

Good news tho, most of the pieces you'll be after in TBC will have haste on them... mastery wasnt around yet.

(tbc surv i threw together has like 15-18% haste not trying to stack it, havent tried the toon out yet so no info there)

I'm Alliance
https://worldofwarcraft.com/en-gb/character/eu/argent-dawn/Oliks .

Atm im contemplating buying gametime tho . .. .
Locked XP'ers and F2P still dont join same Bgs right?
Also you should consider Vet if you want to have less work. some people prefer that over f2p. as one of your items indicates you've had the game before i guess u can use chromie atleast. the Demonsbane trink u have. that's from back in WoD i guess

If I do that I'll have to wait 1 month for bgs tho right?
I'll just stay F2P, my primary focus is classic anyway ;)

Soooo.... am i getting it right that you pay a sub in order to play classic and you'll avoid a sub in order to play retail?

edit- nothing wrong with that whatsoever, i just find it comfortably appropriate.

I pay a sub for classic ye. It's not that I wanna avoid paying for the retail sub it's that i don't want the 1 month bg lockout
