Hardest classes to master in 39

Think i'm pretty comfortable vs. Rets atm, although, met a setup consisting of ret/holy priest as druid rogue. Wont even go into how painful that was.

Other than that I'm ok with them, say vs ret rogue priest in 3v3 the only games I've lost is when someone screws up on our team, stick a felpup on them and those later BoFs will be nothing

Having played shaman 2.2k+ I can't say they are that difficult to play once you get to that certain level. Basicly mastery of your class is not how you play but how you counter. The most challenging thing as a shaman is playing to your stregnths againt other class weaknesses. As a 39 you really don't have many totems to worry about since you Arnt dropping grounding ever 8 seconds. Basicly to master a class you have to reach that top potential of your class and then know how to play other classes. E.g. Knowing what silences or interupts a certain class has up.

Having said that most people who have gotten very good have done so through playing a lot and being able to predict what other players are going to do. To truely master your class I feel you have to be unpredictable. I enjoy playing 2v2 with rogues on my ret because of SoC but I can always tell before combat if I will win or lose based on how predictable he is. It's rather easy to tell which rogue will be caught out of stealth etc.

My final point to masterng a class is support. This is in a sense what makes mastering one class harder then. For example supporting someone on a Druid is more difficult then on a pally. Not that knowing when to bop or hop at the perfect time but for a Druid I know when to sacrifice survivability for dps and visa versa.

Mastering a class is hard to rank based on class in that countering well, playing at your top potential and being unpredictable is different for each class and spec. still some are a little bit more difficult than others.

(looks back at S3 where a good resto shammy was about as rare as golddust :p)

Gold Dust

But yea, I guess you do have a point.

I am generally dropping grounding totem as often as possible on my 39...if its not down im generally in deep doo-doo. Its only 15 seconds and not 8, but still. Id still rank totem options and shock timing above quite a few other classes list of things to do, especially combined with little or no instant casting or hots. I will say im looking forward to playing my shammy more though with 3.1 with instant gift of the naruu and more streamlined totems.
