Randomly got the chance to chat with my crush for a good 20 minutes today.

Today was definitely a good day.

Brought from the death after a 10 week hiatus, awesome!

Rained during my commute to work yesterday. However, the day turned out beautiful when I got out of the office! Have to love April showers.
And annual Bluebonnet Run and coming up soon. Nice convertible weather this time of year in SE Texas.

This is completely unrelated to the game, but it was pretty wonderful, and I have to talk about it. So, I've been in food & bev industry my whole life. The dream is a place of my own, since I know I can do it better then half these corporate hacks.

Now one of my good friends has his own place, and it's very successful. So. Guy Fieri showed up at his place Wednesday, and they filmed for an episode of Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives. This is HUGE if you're in the industry. Your revenue typically doubles and sometimes triples after you get featured. Today a rep from a multiBillion dollar hotel resort chain came to talk to him about licensing. They want to start with ten, and if that works out, open fifty or more.

My good friend has just gone from being comfortably well off, though still middle class to being a multimillionaire. So I jokingly asked him tonight if he wanted me to hire me to mow his lawn or drive his kids to school. He replied, 'I think I need you to run a restaurant for me.'

So there it is. I asked him if that's how it really works. You're just doing your thing one day when some guy shows up and asks how would you like to make buckets of money for doing what you do. He said apparently so.

The dream is at my fingertips. I can almost touch it. And I'm a wreck lol.

Who knew when I woke up this morning that an opportunity like this could present itself. Dreams don't come true, do they?

You probably already know this, but remember to stay close buds with him. That's really awesome to hear though! I hope shit goes well. You could just end up right below CEO!

It will be easy to stay close friends with him, since we share the same passion. And he's a good enough guy to pay it forward. He's southern. He gets it. Someone was kind enough to give him the opportunity to have his own place, and his passion is rewarding him. Sometimes the passion is its own reward. Sometimes some guy shows up and offers you buckets of money. I still can't wrap my head around it lol. Yeah. It's hard work. But I've been doing the hard work without buckets of money until now. I can certainly do it for buckets of money.

But yeah. If this all pans out, I'm grabbing it with both hands, and never letting go. Regardless if the dream comes true for me, it just came true for him, and that's fine in my book.

Idk if you know, but Starbucks isn't franchised. It's all licensed. Those guys have built an empire out of coffee shops. I don't even care about the money. I just want to be a part of building something I believe in. And shit, I may be the oldest dude on this forum, but I've got my whole life in front of me. I have fierce wanderlust. I'm gonna do what I love, and it's gonna let me see the world!

I've worked incredibly hard with both my diet and working out lately, as well as working very hard and long hours at work. Now, as someone who usually prefers to just sit around and play video games (Despite catching turtles in the summer, because obviously that's fun.), I'm pretty pleased with myself.

So not only that, but I have the next few days off after tomorrow. :D
