hacked? wtf

I log on this morning, and then it says:

This account is now attached to a Battle.net account. Please login with your Battle.net account email address (example: john.doe@blizzard.com) and password.

wtf? I was on to like 03:00 and suddenly i cant logon? :(

Looks like someone got your account name and password and put it togeather with their battle net account...

Looks like you need to send your driver's licene and all your info to blizzard.

lol, im the one who is hacked atm not you :p

well, the wow-eu/us.com password is prolly not the same as your battle.net one, you gotta add your email (the one you registered at battle.net+ wow-eu/us.com) and the password you registered at battle.net NOT at wow-eu/us.com

This happened to my brother recently. Apparently there is a mass scam going around involving something along the lines of "Hey! New wow trailer at www.worldofwarcraft--blahblah.com" or something of the sort. When you go to it, it has the same Blizzard account login interface and "requires" you to log into it so you can view the movie. Yes, it's was the actual last video but your account is gone in 10 minutes. They link it to a battle.net account and then they go in and change your info and sell your gold/items.

You'll have to fill out some paperwork with a copy of your driver's license/state issued id along with it. Hopefully you get your gear back. My bro was full Ulduar 25 geared w/ 7kg saved and he's got about 500g left and a naked 80. Best of luck to you though on your recovery process.

Three of my friends have been scammed in last year and it have been taken too long for every of em to recover gear etc. for blizzard's slowness at answering. :(

the same thing happened to me about a week ago. All you have to do is call blizzard and tell them that someone attached your account to a different battle.net and they should switch the email back to yours well at least they did for me, but if not then you will have to send in an id with some paperwork which takes about a week to get back. The gear i am not sure about my gear wasnt deleted but usually they can restore almst everything.

Or...maybe it's blizzards plan to mass scam twinks to get them out of the game. :D muahhahaha

Something strange is going on, I think the account that was given to me (I wrote a story about it here) about 2 weeks ago was hacked also. Before I go any further I never buy gold. I have a 80 and make gold in no time flat.Never go to any weird sites having to do with WoW. and never type my password without my firewall and AV up . I went to log in on that account last night. I was going to use the main on that account to clear my path at STV for the fishing contest. When I logged in the main was deleted! Only the low level toons was still there. So I quickly went to the account on the WoW website to change the password, that worked without any problem. then I Petitioned a GM to see about getting the main back and logged out so I could go fishing on my twinks on my regular account. When I tryed about 2 hours later to log in to see if a GM had responded the password had been changed to keep me out! I know the password that I added wprked before I tested it out 2 times before I went fishing. Something very strange is going on and it looks like it has to do with the "Battledotnet" accounts (BTW his was already on Battledotnet). I just woke up, and I'm planning on looking into this further. I'll update if anything comes up.

Well, there's always the possibility that the old owner was stupid. There has not been a single report where a person's stupidity was nonexistant, in your case, it was the old owner. Until we get a report of someone who has never given away his info to anyone, 'nor has visited any malicious sites, I'm not going to believe anything but stupidity is the cause of this.

This is true. The best thing you can do to avoid your account from getting hacked is to not click on suspicious links and enter your password.
