Just wanted to let folks know... here comes copy/paste from official WoW forums:

Hello and thanks for stopping by

If you are here you either f2p, veteran account or just curious…

Lets clear what’s the Unbound about:

  • a community of people loving the game but stuck on 20 for various reasons (finance, love for low lvl min-maxing, unable to maintain the sub for longer periods of time and therefore ending up locked out if you progress higher than 20 etc etc…)
  • ultra casual community. Such guild can’t, literally, be anything else…
Goals:

  • getting similar minded ppl together
  • breaking that flaw of feeling left out of community which restrictions put on us
  • providing some sort of similar goal… aka, leveling and progressing the guild.
How would I join:

  • If you happen to stumble upon this while your subscription is still on… hit me up!
  • If you see this as f2p and think you can throw in one-time sub… hit me up!
PS: If you are pure f2p and your character has been very active in past period, DO NOT SUBSCRIBE if you want to keep that character on lvl20. If you want to join the guild, you will need to subscribe once and make new character on Doomhammer server.

PS2: If there are similar guilds on Doomhammer, sorry I wasn’t aware. I looked up and found nothing.

Thanks for reading!

Edit 1: fixing wrong info about subscription on pure f2p accounts.

Love the initiative, but anyone with a pure f2p account knows what happens when you pay for that first sub.

not shitting on anything lol

LOL ffs... i literally WAS pure f2p... i still have 8 days of game time and Im STILL 20.

How was I not affected by that?

XP can only be unlocked if you have an active sub.
Every Character you made as a Starter Account will level pass 20 according with the banked XP.
If you already geared and wanna keep them dont unlock XP and forget about RBGs. (can still do wargames)

Chacters you made AFTER subscribing are now Vets and will not bank XP and you can safely unlock XP while with an active sub. Just don't go run dungeons or RBG on the last minutes of you sublcription. Exit WOW and wait 'til you see "Subscription Expired' on your battle.net.

thanks for well clarified things... BUT:

- I made starter account looong ago
- It's the same account that I returned to 20ish days ago
- I bought a sub to create a guild and maaaaybe form some small community around it
- I logged in
- I was 20 despite everything I done before (i'm sure I should have enough xp to get at least 2-3 lvls)

really strange stuff...

OK. After all this mess and even getting the topic locked, lets summarize the info. I've did some research and few players in game also helped me out:

- I've avoided getting over 20 mostly due to the level shrink in Shadowlands.
- My character had enough xp to get me to 19 after the shrink.
- I leveled back on 20 and locked my XP now.
- If I want random bg action I'm required to unlock my XP before my game time runs out.
- Unlocking XP and logging back in AFTER my game time runs out will automatically put some f2p restrictions on my character. Staying on 20 included.
- If I pay for subscription AFTER unlocking XP and letting my game time run out - my character is 20 no more.

I will edit the opening post with correct info and I'd really appreciate if you find some mistakes or just blatant lack of knowledge, not just by me but by anyone in future, avoid teaching the guy that lesson with sarcastic and "i'm up you are down" type of responses.

I'm fairly new here even though I know about this forum for long time and I have nothing but utmost respect to every single one of you. We share the love about something unique in a game which really isn't a shadow it's former self and requires nostalgia trips in order to maintain relevance nowadays. That's why I really don't wanna pick any fights here as... I really... really... don't see a point in them.

Guild update: we got 2 new members thanks to all this mess haha.

Cignus, thanks for unlocking the topic.
