(Guardian Druid) Versatility / Mastery math needed ( I iz not smart at math)

Ignoring the damage reduction part of versatility, as that doesn't concern me (PvE focused) point for point do I get more damage from mastery or versatility? I have been stacking my stats as Agility -> Mastery -> Versatility -> (lol everything else) was curious about the finer details of it. Since Guardian druid at 20 has a million ways to stay alive, I am wanting raw damage to make my runs faster.
 
You're doing it right. Mastery is the BiS stat for Bear, but every class benefits from Versa.
What I feel like you really need to do Is to farm up your TBC BiS, & Gem & Enchant your kit.

Also, you've been farming Freehold, right? The trash in there ( & all BFA instances, in fact )
is pretty nasty & can pile up absurd damage on you very quickly.
Were you farming older instances, I'd strongly advise you go to Aidsfall & grab the https://www.wowhead.com/item=178769/infinitely-divisible-ooze .
While not necessary for farming dungeons from xPacs earlier than Legion, it is almost as good as having a capped toon haul you through an instance.

This is where I am so far. I am planning on replacing my neck with the DF one once I'm done leveling BfA enchanting. The Apexis rare cloak gives 1 more vers if I can get it with a socket. As great as the bracers are, they are on the list to be replaced. Need socketed rings with better secondaries, and I'll use the proc socket legion trinkets with agi on them, but thats in the far off future.

I have the ooze, was lucky to get it on my first run of the place, but no good damage in freehold with it.

You could go get a differnt weapon. Easymode: Head over to WoD & go grab any of these:

While out in FFR, you should also be sure to pick up https://www.wowhead.com/item=111530/giantstalkers-guile right across form the FP by https://www.wowhead.com/zone=6874/bloodmaul-slag-mines & https://www.wowhead.com/item=111948/gruuks-evil-eye just by the Horde Garrison.
The latter is a trink I swear by & it will serve you very well.

While out in FFR, you may also just want to hit up the Dungeon & see if https://www.wowhead.com/npc=74787/slave-watcher-crushto would kindly shit you an Epic https://www.wowhead.com/item=110040/crushtos-neck-separator?bonus=4746 or those super-upgradicated cufflinks.

Otherwise... like we'd all said: You just need to work on enchanting & then JC.

I've become a pro at farming freehold. I clear all trash (except the trash leading to Sweete past the bridge) no bosses, and a run only takes 20 minutes. Once I get 1000 cloth, I head back to Boralus and make a million bracers and scrap everything. Im used to playing horde and leveling BfA chanting on alliance for the better ring enchants is much more punishing.

oh and average 250 cloth per run

Ok, so super nit picky, today in Freehold I looted a socketed cloak with 3 vers and 5 mastery, would, even if only super slightly, be better than the apexis coak with a socket that has 4 vers and 4 mastery?

EDIT: I just looted one with 2 vers and 5 mastery, seemingly better as well, if you can ignore the fact it has 1 less armor

i would take 3v/5m over 4v/4m imo

My guardian has a 2h/6m cloak which is probably the best I can do without trying to get a tert in there as well

So for people who use the 21 vers neck/ring, is that for PvP sake or is 21 vers really that big?

I personally wouldn’t take it over a 3 socket DF neck with mastery, along with 2x 2 socket rings both with mastery for the raw damage

No. You can't get the socket items from the AH nor make them yourself. They require Khaz Algar JC.

What ilvl are the Mechagon rings at 20? At 10-11 they're BIS if you can get the good recipe, which you can't on pure F2P, so you have to settle for the ordinary ones.

Tomorrow we're having the first BFA TW so that probably means you earn Mechagon rep 50% faster, which is more relevant to the paid/Vet players I guess. I guess you're limited by Galvanic Oscillators anyway.
