Grandfathered should be removed

Just a few pieces of game changing GF'd gear on this one, not to mention Gutterblade & Chausses of Westfall among others.



Also this is just the most scrubbiest of topics I have seen on these forums, to say that you want GF'd gear to be taken away from players would just be the most disrespectful thing Blizzard could ever do to an old school player.



Imagine an Old School twink re-activating his account to find some of the slots on his twink are empty......but sooner or later there will be a BoA for every slot, & I won't be playing this game anymore by the time that happens.

You're talking about 1 person having a "Game-breaking" collection of GF'd gear, not the average twink with 1 piece or so. I'll keep my statement that it's pure vanity and shouldn't be removed or changed in any way.

It deeply saddens me to think that a person from Dynasty-Elune (My original server & guild that I was an original member of when it was founded) can be so scrubtastic.

Characters are more likely to have a full set of GF'd gear than just one item. And I think you need to revise the definition of "pure". Regardless of whether they have a substantial effect they do have an effect.

Seriously Lol. Let me put it this way, That FC has a unique collection most players do not have and thus that character in-game potentially can be game-changing. but most slot's that are available to Grandfathered items in no way make or break a WSG win or loss.



And it saddens me that a person would flame a statement so hard without understanding it first.

For a FC it really is gamebreaking. The GF'd gear can boost you with 300-400 HP.

Correct and I agree with that but we are talking GF items as a whole being considered game-breaking(the making a difference between a win or a loss in WSG), not specific sets of gear in specific situations. The average piece of grandfathered gear's stats compared to anything available to twink's today is hardly considered to have such an impact.

dont remove grandfathered items, then a new set of gear will come up, called BoA's, and then someone will open a topic again to say, hey lets remove BoA's, etc etc

....and in the end we end up playing bg's naked.



i am not fortune to have a lot of grandfathered items,

people who do have them, at some point had a bit more trouble to get them compared to now, you will understand this once the game will become more easier to farm gear and someone tells you to get rid of your own hard worked farmed gear that is not available anymore.



instead, gaze at the onces with grandfathered gear and salute them.

I was suggesting that IF they implemented full BOA's (ie ALL SLOTS) it would be akin to what we see at higher levels where FULL sets are available. But yes I agree with you that even at 70 you need to mix and match PVE with PVP.

IMO faction changing for superior gear is also a great way to create imbalance. You can buy yourself a "better" twink.



. . . and yes - I have spent at least $120 on this - only on one toon.
 
I know this toon is 29, and I wasn't BIS in the day (this twink is from BC). I still have a +22 intellect enchant on her lawl

I just logged on her for old times sake and realized that the head enchant libram (that took me a long time to grind out back in the day) and the leg armor enchant are Red. Already 2 of my bonuses on her are null and void because of people who would complain about twinks or complain about things they dont have (like the OP here)



But then kill ALL grandfathered items? You're crazy OP. Crazy



There goes my Gun, my Chest, and my gloves right there.
