grandfathered names?

i was looking through patch 4.3 stuff on mmo champ today, specifically the current version of the patch notes, and found this:



North American realms (excluding Brazilian, Latin American, and Oceanic realms) no longer permit letters with accents in character or guild names. Existing character and guild names with special characters will be unaffected by this change.





kind of a weird thing to change, no? still, if you are the sort of person who likes ascii names, i'd go ahead and make whatever toons you think you'll want.

well that is just stupid. If people can not figure out the number pad codes then they should just not be on a computer at all. über awesome to use accents in names since it makes it sound proper (if you use the right accent of course).

I remember when reporting someone with funny characters actually resulted in having that name nerfed and the player being forced to rename.
