My best friend is a marine and she says it is OK if you have the type of personality that it is alright with you if 24/7 you don't mind doing what you are told to do by someone who is probably an idiot. If you can deal with that, you will be OK.

If you have any creativity, forget it.

If you have authority problems, forget it.

If you have a death wish, they will probably fulfill it for you.

If it is OK with you to be completely beaten down of your own self identity so they can re-make you in the identity of a soldier, go for it.

Also know that vaccinations of anything and everything are mandatory and you will have your pay withheld and maybe even discharged if you refuse.

You have no say over your body and what they do it.

They own you and you are their slave, and this is 24/7.

If you want to buy a house or any other expensive credit line, you must get the permission of your CO.

The local cable guy (ex-marine) said he did 3 tours and all they did was:

1) guard oil wells
2) guard oil refineries
3) guard oil shipping ports

So if you don't mind working for the oligopoly (oil cartels) under the guise of patriotism, go for it.

also, just know the the figures they release on wartime casualties and deaths are underestimated by 4-10x.

Weigh the pros and cons and know if your personality could fit.

I would last one day, if that.

That's not necessarily true, logistically those would be very important places. My uncle did a tour and he was at the Kuwait/Iraq border, and most of what they did there was keep the police from beating civilians to death.

I know sigh*, in the army is the last place I reckon a person should end up especially if they are playing WoW ^^. Anyways, Gl Hf it is a lot like Arathi Basin defend the flag, and if they do play capture the flag in training roll a druid :D
