I'll give the brief explanation as for why I deleted rather than level or move accounts/servers, as I neglected to include it.
I play almost exclusive on one server (Uther) and prior to making Freefoot (the now extinct druid) I’d already maxed my account out. I have a raiding level 80 Balance Druid along with an 80 Protection Warrior, 80 Unholy Deathknight, 80 Combat Rogue, a 73 Ret Paladin, 72 Elemental Shaman, 72 Markman Hunter, a 63 Affliction Warlock, a 61 Frost Mage and my 19 Rogue. I’d banished my 63 Affliction Warlock to a different server for a while, to make room for a twink to test the waters in the 29’s, and I really had my heart set on a Feral Druid. Additionally, almost all my gaming activities involve my live-in girlfriend, and she and I played in the 19's so she’s made a 29’s Shaman and banished her Rogue to the same server as my ‘lock.
After the leveling and subsequent gearing of both characters, neither of us were enjoying our roles in the 29- and since we both become support healers (in 90% PUGs) our games de-evolved into “kill the Shaman/Druid” matches, so they ended-up rotting after several wins and losses (even the new-to-us AB matches were not fun- either there we didn’t have enough players, or they didn’t, or we were way overpowered, or they were). Add to that, she was missing her rogue and I was (strangely) missing my ‘lock; I guess we’d underestimated the emotional investment we’d had in those characters, so we decided to bring them back. And since we both have a high-level Druid/Shaman, keeping the twinks on another server just seemed like a waste of $15 (and in today’s economy that adds up).
So, again, a big “thank you” to all the 29’s that helped us gear out and learn the new BG’s- it was an interesting education! I’ll still be around in the 19’s, so maybe I’ll see you around!
