Here's some helpful addons that I use.
Here's some helpful addons that I use.
- AfterMath (Calculates the damage your spells and abilities do after so many uses)
- Altoholic (View your other toon's bag/bank/equipped items, etc)
- Bagnon (Moves all your bags to one frame, great for neat freaks!)
- Battleground Targets (See who you're fighting against before game begins, includes the target's spec)
- Capping Battleground Timers (Shows EFC's % of health at top of map in WSG, shows timers for capping bases in AB/AV, etc).
- Honor Kill Tab (Adds a tab under your PvP window to display how many HK's you have per BG total, as well as for the day. Replacement for Blizz's original tab).
- MikScrollingBattleText (Replacement for floating damage, VERY useful!!)
- OmniCC (Counts down your cooldowns on action bar)
- REFlex (Collects statistics of played BG's and Arenas. Includes wins/losses, with timestamp, as well as honor gained, damage/healing done, and deaths).
- Shadowed Unit Frames (Great replacement unit frame addon)
- Shutupfool (Silly addon, features Mr. T yelling "SHUT UP FOOL" when you interrupt an enemy player. Note, only you hear this).
- TipTac (Replacement Tooltip addon, I love it so much).

I have many more that I use, those were just the ones I thought the f2p could benefit some from.
Mapster is another good one, replaces your map (not minimap), its scalable so it doesn't take up the entire screen, and it's automatically filled in. No need to explore to uncover the map. However if you're after the explorer title it must be disabled to see where to go.

Other than several of those mentioned I use and consider very practical the following addons:
(Oh, and I think F2PAddon belongs on any 'good addons' list, although it's of course the ubiquitous f2p chat, and thus everyone knows it. Although not yet very useful on Onyxia. ^^)
- Addon Control Panel - fast in-game addon management and UI reload
- BG Defender - helps you quickly call out # of incoming / help needed / safe in BGs, if you are near a point to defend
- Chatter - customize chat
- focusheals - announces enemy healers very quickly with /fh b, to remind your team to, well.
- GTFO - Get out of the fire. GTFO of the fire. Don't stand in the fire. Get out of the fire. - Sounds different alarms if you are in AoE/ close to drowning/ fatigue zone/ etc. PLEASE EVERYONE GET THIS. For your healers. Please.
- Mapster - more world and zone map functions, as Fourtwennay said
- Masque (Elegance) - pretty buttons for less clutter
- Minimap Button Frame - collects minimap buttons for easy access and minimal clutter
- PowerDing - for pallies, microwave ding at full holy charge
- TinyDPS - another lightweight healing and damage meter

According to curse it tells you the time you have to enter a bg or arena instead of moving your cursor over it to see the amount of time you have before you cant enter the battle

Imo I'd stick with Capping for that, mine shows me the time until my BG teleport is unavailable.
Prat 3.0 is a great chat addon. Colored text on names to indicate class, shows lvl of person talking, etc.
