Glitched into Outland

I logged into my alliance toon and tried to fly from bloodmyst to ruth'ran village, but got one of those "transfer aborted: instance not found" messages and ended up flying back to bloodmyst . . . but something went wrong and i bypassed the isle and flew and flew into a great white nothingness for a long time.

So I logged out. Later when I logged back in, something killed me before the screen loaded and now I'm in Outland.

AFAIK, it wasn't possible to get to Outland for a while, unless you had set your hearthstone there . . . right?

So, yeah, heads up - it might be possible for you to glitch newer toons into Outland (I'm going to try to do this on other toons, toons that I actually like.

What can I do in Outland? halaani and I think some pets, right?
 
This happened to me in the beginning of cata, except i was flying from Exodar to somewhere. I flew between planets and turned around once I was in sight of Hellfire Peninsula. My bird exploded halfway back to Azeroth, with my body being in the Hinterlands and my ghost being in Westfall.

Edit: Outlands isn't difficult for people who want to get there...
 
The thing about zones like Bloodmyst Isle and the Ghostlands, is that they have not been updated since bc, so your have the old world style of programing that went into them.

Consider this: a p2p cannot fly in those zones, at all. The reason for this unexplained restriction at this later stage of the game is believed to be due to blizzard having hidden many things in the game's Z-axis. Thus, you were able to reach Outland, because those areas are in fact connected... though separated by a very large area of nothingness.

As for why your taxi choose to fly off into said nothingness... dem birds be gotten stupid as a late. I have an ss where one I was on bugged and decided to fly my around UNDER Dun Morogh.
 
Draenei and blood elf areas are on the same server as Outland. If you fly high enough and can get your camera distance to max you can see those areas from Nagrand. People have taken screenshots of this.

Thing is food, drink, alchemy, and minor wizard oil buffs scale down with lower levels now. Halaani Whiskey gives 6 Stamina at level 20, and 7 Stamina in bgs since we scale to level 24. On top of that it's still 53 silver 33 copper for just 1, you can only hold 3 at a time, and your faction needs to control Halaa to buy it. It's not worth it anymore since you can easily cook food that gives 6 stamina and 6 spirit.

Also you can just get a mage to invite you to a group and port you to Shattrath, then set your hearthstone there. There's portals back to Orgrimmar and Stormwind so it's not a big inconvenience.

Yeah I saw that just now. Mostly relieved b/c I don't have to screw around with all that hassle.

Now it just means I got to get some pets from the spire (which is also somewhat of a hassle - I set hearth there and the only way I can figure to get to Kalimdor is to Q for Stockades/DM, die, release and then leave the party).


also, what? wizrd oil gives less than 7int now?

There are portals to SW and Org in Shat you can use at level 20.

For fun you can just leave your hearth there in Shat, and hop over to the portal when you need too get back to civilization.
