Give up your classic twinks for TBC classic?

Let's say Blizzard releases TBC Classic and you got to make characters from scratch.

Would you give up your classic twink characters to make new twinks in TBC?

I would say TBC is the absolute prime time for twinking, but questions are; Will the brackets be popular? Will the game itself be popular?

TBC private servers are somewhat empty compared to WotLK and vanilla ones. Would TBC Classic suffer from the same popularity? Will people prefer Classic vanilla or Shadowlands over TBC?

Discuss!

I would 100% abandon vanilla for TBC, no question. I'd be more worried about vanilla population/queues than BC. There will be a mass exodus. Balance is terrible in vanilla, the raiding is boring/simple, and a lot of people will be more than ready to move on. I suppose it's personal opinion but BC is just so so much better. It improved on so many things even if people gripe over the changes they don't like.

I do not mind starting over from scratch, but given how outraged a big portion of the classic community will be if their character progression doesn't carry over to BC, I imagine Blizzard will not do BC fresh. I'll be there either way.

Shadowlands would have to make it pretty big to pull players away from classic versions but anything is possible; I'm not too worried about it. Certainly it's unlikely to offer twinks any content unless organized exp off games participation sees an uptick in the new brackets (doubt it).

WOTLK will definitely hurt or kill low level BC brackets but I see no point in worrying about that when BC isn't even here yet. We'll have years to get our time in. There's a good chance I'll move onto wotlk but I can't see into the future.

If they did end up doing TBC I would be completely amazed if they made you start over. It wouldn't make any sense to kill toon continuity and it would totally transform the experience of TBC launch. Imagine the expac launching and everyone having to fight for snow leopard tags in cold ridge valley all over again. no ty.

I'd play the shit out of tbc tho

They did a survey a while back asking what type of TBC classic players wanted so I think its on the table.

I think the best method is to be able to copy over your character. You can keep your character on a permanent classic World and you can copy your character over *once* to the TBC server. Would split the servers but it won't matter if they end up merging the servers.

Allowing a one time copy controlled by you would not work.

Each member of a guild could be given a copy of everything of value, then they copy. The new guild has 40x+ the amount of valuables and gold. This works because the character remains on classic and can still hand those items to the next person.

It looks like it will be a one-way trip if you copy. I prefer the copy everyone at launch night, and after that you can manual copy but all items become soul-bound and there is a fairly low gold cap for moving say 100-500g. But nothing remotely like that is on the table.

For low level BGers, it's an interesting question where the community should go to. Do you prefer staying with Classic for low level BG's or TBC? The community will be broken up again (like US West and East) so it would be preferable if everyone went to the same place (either stay Classic or go to TBC).

If I was to guess, I think the community shifts to TBC and low level BGs in Vanilla kinda die out.

Maybe its already been said, but I think a character copy shouldn't be allowed until maybe a month or 2 so people can go for world first fairly. After a month yes, but only works on a single lvl 60 once every month or so.

I'd guess that vanilla classic turns into TBC classic like a real expansion. The somewhat low player base can't handle being split in 3 with one place completely choked on progression. At least that's what I'd prefer.

Tbc all the way
