Gem SQUISH data - affecting 70's

noticed gem SQUISH is on wowhead today, it is also quite interesting and contrary to the twitter blue post that WOTLK would be higher than BC gems i saw in another thread.

some gems scale from 1-60 and then 61-100

BC
Bold Crimson Spinel - Item - World of Warcraft
Rigid Empyrean Sapphire - Spell - World of Warcraft
Solid Empyrean Sapphire - Spell - World of Warcraft better than wotlk epic
Smooth Lionseye - Item - World of Warcraft
Falling Star - Spell - World of Warcraft JC gem from prof bonus, may be GF'd or removed in beta/live?
Relentless Earthstorm Diamond - Spell - World of Warcraft better than WOTLK meta

WOTLK
Bold Cardinal Ruby - Item - World of Warcraft
Rigid Majestic Zircon - Item - World of Warcraft
Solid Majestic Zircon - Spell - World of Warcraft nerfed to BC blue level gem Solid Star of Elune - Spell - World of Warcraft
Smooth King's Amber - Spell - World of Warcraft
Bold Dragon's Eye - Item - World of Warcraft JC gem from prof bonus, may be GF'd or removed in beta/live?
Relentless Earthsiege Diamond - Spell - World of Warcraft

appears many green, blue, etc. gems are same stats from BC, WOTLK, CATA, and MOP. v which is really stupid in that CATA /MOP gems require CATA /MOP gear level requirements. there appears to be no actual scaling effort, to make a proffesion want to learn, or cut gems for 3 expacs other than for leveling. this also removes the reward on higher level items as you level, but that is not our problem

CATA
Solid Ocean Sapphire - Spell - World of Warcraft

Smooth Lightstone - Spell - World of Warcraft
Agile Shadowspirit Diamond - Spell - World of Warcraft

MOP
Solid River's Heart - Spell - World of Warcraft
Agile Primal Diamond - Spell - World of Warcraft

some gems are showing extreme stats, may be due to data mining errors
Powerful Earthsiege Diamond - Spell - World of Warcraft
Chaotic Skyfire Diamond - Spell - World of Warcraft

another thing noticeable is hit and expertise have been converted to crit or haste. this will make it more possible to obtain socket bonus stats. dodge and parry stats are still there

Whilst that stuff has been datamined, the original twitter thing on tbc gems being weaker than wotlk ones happened _after_ those values were seen in one of the alpha sandboxes.

Personally I doubt they'd remove the dragon's eyes/tbc jwc gems, rather just _not_ add more when you're at a higher level. Maybe adding an ilevel ceiling like they've done on the enchants would happen, but it's likely WoD gems are going to be better than jwc gems from two, three etc expansions earlier.

not sure what you are saying, blizzard announced that they gave WOD databases to various sites. if WOTLK gems are going to slightly stronger than BC gems, where has this happened and who is showing it? as of now 3 expacs worth of gems are squished to same level. yes it's alpha and thing still have months to change again

if CATA and MOP gems have a min i-level req, i would expect WOD gems to have it also

blizzard said they are removing combat bonuses, doubt they will GF, they are outright removing the gatherering bonuses and if they leave players will eng, JC, LW, alch, tailoring GF'd imo, there would be quite a uproar

Ehm, even if they remove the patterns we have (which is unlikely), some professions still have bonuses that are items. Uproar or not, there's a reason they left all the previous enchanting patterns in too, and added an ilevel ceiling instead.

You're kinda making wild assumptions based on what blizzard has said, whilst simultaneously shooting down other assumptions based on what blizzard has said. Double standards aren't a good thing :)

They have internal builds that are weeks (probably even months) ahead of what they release to the public.

Ofc they will.

How long have head enchants been GF'd? They expect people to level up and move on which is why things become grandfathered in the first place.

But like Splosion said, it's possible for (at least some of) the bonuses to stay without being usable at max level if they add an ilvl limit like they recently did to all the old enchants. Even if they only remove some of them (such as the gathering/engineering ones), you might still be able to change profession in WoD for one of the other bonuses.
