Gearing a 19 mage.

I cant think of any situtation for a mage where mana would be much of a problem. I would have thought the only gear sets that would get an outing would be stam CC set and glass cannon set.

agree with splenda.. spidersilk+10shadow ress,4stam brac,4/4stam/int gloves,5/5stam int pants or pious leg and 6 stam boots but to get hitcap i would get 1xsimple pearl ring or you just get hit pots and i would always play with gravestone scepter to shoot whenever its possible to do at least a little dmg ..cant be wrong aye? i once had gear with 2k mana for aoe'ing when i was supporting fc on roof to get some rogues and it really works often if you think like a rogue..and be blessed with luck.. also with gravestone and +10 shadow ress you ress some shadowfang proc dmg .. but not sure how much and if its viable.. but as ud you have even more shadow ress.. well in the end you just have to adjust your gear depending on your cds(trinkets), enemys,team, situation and playstyle (manapool/healthpool) ..

CC set remove as much spellpower as possible, this is the current BiS mage set for wsg (without hit pots). The rationale for using the hit ring instead of the cape is that you want to reduce spellpower as much a possible, but maintain stamina and a cape enchant allows for more flexibility and utility than a ring. My suggestion is stack stam like you're a Druid FC and use hit pots. Take a look at ninetofive though, his set let's him have a decent damage output in pugs and he's still effective at CCing. For premades though take whatever has the most stam, with recent mana changes it should be impossible to OOM even when conciously avoiding int in favor of stam in your gear.

My Horde mage has a few gear problems so I won't link him. Obviously Horde would use Inferno Robe, trinket, etc. Also, if I know for a fact I'm facing a Blood Elf team I will switch Lavishly Jeweled Ring in fro Seal of Wrynn to be BE hitcapped.
