Funding a 19 - Classic

I'm super pumped for classic, I'm sure we all are. However, I'm interested in twinking again and don't plan on leveling to 60. Any thoughts how I can fund a twink?
 
Savory deviate delights
Swiftness pots
Playing the AH on tink gear (buy stuff early on for dirt cheap then look to sell when BGs are released)
 
I never played a private server and haven’t been active in WoW since Cata. I twinked in TBC thru Cata, so I missed it in Vanilla although I did play Vanilla doing the rank grind thru 11 before TBC.

Not trying to wall of text, but I’m new here and I’m coming back for classic almost exclusively for twinking. Are we anticipating it being very active? I love all the brackets and if they are active I want at least one twink in each with maybe the exception of 59. I think for 19 I would probably go priest if it ends up being worth it.

It's difficult to say whether or not classic will be active. I think a lot of people will under-estimate the grind required to get to 60, amass gold, train professions and gear a toon.

My prediction is that it will be great fun for the first month or so but people will get bored of levelling and switch back to retail in a slow decline after the first month or two.
There will be a base of players on a hand-full of servers that will stick it through but you have to remember - creating a twink in vanilla, straight off the bat is going to be a tremendous task.

With no xp lock you'll have to plan your level route to get key quest items, get an enchanter toon going, find other 19's to fight until battlegrounds are released....

I think the best plan of action for anyone that wants to twink would be to grind something to level 60 they want to raid with. Grind that toon until about a month away from BG's being released and then start up your 19. I'd recommend enchanting and mining for your 60 as you'll want to be able to enchant your twinks gear. You'll also make some decent money through mining...
 
Good advice. I planned to focus on a main first to be able to actually make funds. I know it could be six months before WSG is actually open so that’s a long time to only plan for twinks and there’s plenty more of the game to enjoy before twinking is even really possible. I’m just new here and didn’t know if the community here had any kind of expectations or a feel for the number of people interested in twinks.

I think there was a poll with about 50+ people responding saying they would twink in classic. that doesnt take into account all the people who are returning and those that dont use xpoff, so I'd say theres a good number that plan to.

Most excited for the r14 grind again, should be fun.

I think a lot of members her are considering/planning/definitely going to give twinking a go.
It's simply difficult to judge how successful classic will be as a whole for it to work. Especially after the hype dies down after a couple of months.
 
Ive been playing on Northdale (Pserver) I funded a complete BIS vanilla 19 (Naxx shoulders and all) on the level 19 twink itself. As mentioned above, Fish Deviates, cook for costumes. and play AH. endless money with very minimal effort required. But a little luck always helps.--

I begged my way to a shadowfang, Assasins blade, Librams and chants on my 19 back in vanilla. Don’t see why it wouldn’t work in classic
 
Thanks for the feedback. I’m getting excited for classic and twinking is a big part of it. I’ll just have to wait and see where most people who have expressed interest in twinking are gonna make their home at.

If you mean by Hustling shit for free by 'begged' then ye for sure. Even regarding to dungeon runs if you just whisper few high levels or post in /channel and ask kindly one of them most likely will run you for free.

We should start a generic list of BoEs and “of the ...” to look for. Some will be more sought after than others.

It’s going to be months before BGs will be phased in.
There will be plenty of time for people to level up to 60 so they can have an end game toon to be the Sugar Daddy/Mommy for their lowbies.
Planning ahead will be key to success in Classic if you want a nice level x9 toon.
