If I had one, I would surely use it.

Alright cool, I made him in BC on a different server and just remembered him. Has inferno and furbolg pouch :)

BoA robe > inferno as frost. You lost 11ish SP and gain 5 stam and >>>2%<<< crit. The numbers are definitely around there, haven't been on my mage in a while though. You should be looking at a good amount of SP and some high crit. If you're horde you have access to crit boots and a crit ring that are BiS for frost mages.

as arcane inferno wins.

^ My mage. Only thing I would change is getting dual argas and that hit wand.. but that would require a faction change. Also 10 haste to gloves is arguably better, I need a pair.

Oh and mindthrust bracers, and a second agm.

Super low crit

There's mine, swap in BoA robe, crit ring instead of argas and crit boots instead of spidersilk. When boa helm comes out swap in the boa cloak and the helm, and go 5 hit to boots, seal of argas instead of lavishly jewled, and the 2 hit wand to remain hit capped while using the boas and gain a net total of like 2 crit or something.

edit, and 22 int to staff for frost

Got any sweet pet macros for us?

Frost mages can do alot of burst with +crit- I have alot of fun with my damage set but ussually go back to my more stamina based gear just because it's more useful for a wsg game.

With the Valentines buffs you can be both at once though! ^^

Well, these days, there are 2 routes you can take with frost. You can either stack stamina and intellect if you want to go with snare and CC, or you can go sp/crit/int for a good shatter/damage build.

I'd suggest Chanka's mage for a good build for shatter/damage build, and my mage for a well balanced snare/CC build.

Pet control is very important as a mage becuase if you lose track of your pet it will easily get killed, same concepts can be applied to hunter pets with some minor tweaking.

I have my pet bound to "t" this macro will summon my pet, if my pet is already summoned pressing "t" again will put the freeze target at the end of my cursor and allow for easy freeze placement: (For easy shatter combos try casting frost bolt then freeze your target before the frost bolt reaches the target and follow up with a fireblast)

#showtooltip Summon Water Elemental

#show Summon Water Elemental

/cast [nopet] Summon Water Elemental

/cast [pet:Water Elemental] Freeze

This next macro will summon your pet, if your pet is already summoned it places the "move to" terrain target at the end of your cursor allowing you to get your pet into position or out of harms way: (I have this macro bound to number 6 i don't use it that often)

#showtooltip Summon Water Elemental

#show Summon Water Elemental

/cast [nopet] Summon Water Elemental

/click PetActionButton3

usually your pet will still attack a target you started attacking until it's dead, this causes you to lose track of your pet easily in WSG I use this macro to make my pet follow me. It will also summon your pet if it is not out: (I have this macro bound to 7 it's a little out of the way but easy enough to reach when i'm traveling)

#showtooltip Summon Water Elemental

#show Summon Water Elemental

/cast [nopet] Summon Water Elemental

/click PetActionButton2

I think im going to go for a shatter damage build :) thanks guys. But I need some help with a spec because Chanka was arcane.

I guess just go for the most crit you can, get skinning as a prof and pick up the Cone of Cold freeze talent in the second tier so you can CoC-->fireblast crits. if you're crit is around 25ish that would translate to 75% crit chance against frozen targets.
