Fraps and Hard Drive Questions

Hey,

I am looking to start recording using the Program named FRAPS and I just wanted some opinions on it or other alternatives along with storage of these files.

Recording:

Is FRAPS a decent recording program?

Is Xfire better?

Which takes up less space?

Which has better quality?

Are there any other programs that run as well or better for the price range (Free-$40)?

Hard Drives:

External or Internal?

Size?

Connection?

Any cooling or things to worry about?

What things should I look for when browsing to purchase a Hard Drive?

What would be a good choice model to look into?

Thank you for taking the time to reply to my questions.

Fraps - The best program that I have came across, very user friendly and more importantly, you can select the fps range, turn off or on sound and even take screen shots

Xfire - Same thing as Fraps but a little less user friendly and its free

Space - I don't know, but when you recording the files come out to be fairly decent sized, depending on time length of recording.

Quality - Both, they both do the same job in quality. The only way to increase the quality / size of your video is to actually play in fullscreen mode with the highest length and width settings on (I generally play 12## by 7## when recording videos.)

Hard Drives - I don't know ;-;
