Its really a waste to buy them for the prices people ask on BH. Just keep at it. I've done it multiple times on F2P twinks. Can't say I've had to farm for more then 3 or 4 days.

I got my gloves the first day farming them, I think I had about 15 kills when they dropped. They're not that hard to farm considering the 6min spawntime

Not hard to farm. Just can be tedious due to RNG. I've got a pair of the gloves and the legs and 3 Petrified Shinbone - Item - World of Warcraft my first day farming and nothing since.
