That's another class I will try to avoid if I try 85.
 
why not make all lvl 90 items available for lvl 85? lvl 80 with mop items seems to be too balanced, they have to ruin another bracket even harder
 
Honestly wish you'd ask if they'd have the 409's removed from 80 and 450+ removed from 85 :( Would be much more enjoyable and I guess balanced if that happened.

Working on a spreadsheet atm that will show more info, but it looks like the 409s are going from being 186% better than 284s to 10% better, and from 156% better than 308s to 13% better.

Yeah I was compairing it, but then again the whole blizzard "relative power shouldn't change" so.

They also said they're flattening the jumps between expansions and the 409s are the biggest of those :)

Most of the WotLK weapons have roughly the same DPS (regardless of what tier they're from), so either the level 80 raids will all be around the same difficulty or Naxx will be ridiculously easy.
 
I thought more people would be happy about the Blasthammer dropping to level 85 but I guess opinions vary based on PvE and PvP :D

Another little bit of item squish info from comparing Wowhead's data: a 2/2 Sun-Lute will remain at 20% better than a 1/1 Spear of Xuen (in terms of DPS on the weapon) but the Spear will lose some of its gain over the DS weapons (which means the Sun-Lute will drop slightly closer to the DS weapons too).

Also, the item upgrade system is being removed in WoD but items that are upgraded before then will become grandfathered:

So make sure you grab all the level 85 Archaeology items and get them upgraded before 6.0!

i have seen two of these guns go unsold on BMAH on my server, others maybe too but i wasn't able to follow up, imo it's not worth the price they are starting at even for a 90

another problem Blizzard DEV post alot of LOL...la dee daa lip service via twitter, i would not put faith in it and they haven't make it a 85 weapon yet and most likely not till WOD. if it's not made a 85 prior to the expac, there will be no 85's with the gun upgraded, it will still be the weapon to have as a hunter but that depends too on what happens if they go back to x0 - x9 bracketing in BGs along with the scaling blizzard uses due to the larger spread in levels and abilities. a 80 in either full WOTLK raid gear or PVP gear maybe more powerful than players 85 thru 89.

in 70-74 bracket, a 70 currently in that bracket is scaled to a 75-76 level when in a BG, one of the reasons burst is soo insane, players have complained about scaling in other brackets but blizz really went into a MEH-dilligaf attitude in this MOP expansion, even flat out dropped doing anything even earlier than they did in CATA, which they said after CATA they wouldn't do that again.

I'd say this and the screenshot Zmirnoff posted are conclusive enough to show it's more likely to change than not. There's nothing stopping 85s from buying it and upgrading it before WoD (like Glasscannon and I have already done).

my bad, i didn't know one could upgrade a item they can't equip

just figured all those guys in transmog hut worked under same rules, they won't let you tmog items you can't equip, presumed they wouldn't allow upgrades or reforges on items you can't equip
