First Impression of 70s

(NA) Decided to try out 70s the other day (happened to have a 70 and a non TWW account and a character transfer still available)
Took a look at Coolzo's guide and decided to go the "buy gear off the AH route" due to the lack of effort needed, and queued for a bg and some arena skirmishes.

Pros:
Minimal effort needed to be "good enough" ilvl 515 Boes
Random BG queues took like 10-15 minutes
Arena skirmishes pop pretty often between bgs queues
Plenty of healers queuing
Most classes actually seem decently balanced

Cons:
Some classes are VERY broken, Paladin, Evoker, Destro, Spriest to name a few.
Plenty of healers queuing (They don't die)
Don't know if the effort of getting the DF Season 4 Tier sets is worth it yet through DOTI farming ilvl 502(?) epics

I've got 60 more days of gametime on this account and I'm curious if it'll hold my attention or not /shrug so far it's scratched that "twinking random bg queue" itch that I've had for a while...

Gonna chime in too and say I've played a few evenings of casual queing 70s BGs and I at least feel like I've gotten my golds worth of ilvl 515s

As Cig noted, there's some balancing issues. Healers take coordinated effort from multiple people to kill, some classes can 1 shot (through 40% vers!) if left unattended and some classes are just busted. So its... ya know... twinking.

But the ques are tolerable, the pace of the bracket seems good and I got more WSG/Twin Peaks than I did seething shore. Its not a golden age by any stretch of the imagination but its a good time if you're curious and looking for something to do when 20s arent running wargames.

Actual downside? too many fucking buttons. I find myself picking passive talents rather than active abilities because 30 fucking keybinds is just too much, man. But thats on me for playing Surv, I guess.

Now I now people dont gear till last minute or come in late but this is why I always keep last expansions conquest gear on about 5 or six toons and transfer over to non current exp account...Always BiS...545 was nerfed quickly as it should've

..545 was nerfed quickly as it should've
Quickly? 545's lasted like 6+ months... For those of us that got them cheap in the first week of the expansion, we got PLENTY of use from them. At the time, even S4 geared folks were....not challenging. It got old before they got nerfed.

Hell, even I got bored long before they ever got nerfed, playing BGs with them just made me feel like a dick TBH.

After a while, I just let my sub lapse and went back to my 11. That was like a month or so before they got nerfed.

This is accurate

70s are fun if you miss the slands feel of being with levellers and noobs, idk what it is about high levels but theres always way more noobs for some reason

It's a single level bracket, just lvl 70s. Been that way for the last few xpacs. It can be bad for queue times depending on the time of day, but at least xp-on levelers can still join.
Ah ok, suprised by the quick que times then
