Finally Rolling A Twink...

Myrm

Legend
Alright. I was going to do this some months ago, but this summer was just too stressful.

I would have to level something from scratch as I have no alts minus my main that I raid on at least 12 hours per week (when content is new) and I hate leveling :)

I know that the 15-19 bracket has a lot of drama, so I want to stay away from that in all honesty.

Questions:

1. How is the 10-14 bracket or 20-24?
2. Also, what is the most needed class/spec combination for premade BGs?
3. Good guild for BGs in either the 10-14 or 20-24 bracket that is willing to help me out with gearing when I hit the level cap?
4. Best server for 10-14 or 20-24 twinks? (US that is)

Regards,

Shane

1. 10-14 has scheduled games and has decent grandfathering. The need for high level toons is for BoAs and BoE grandfathered gear purchases. 20-24 is a huge imbalanced shitfest, but the community can be both amazing and terrible at times.
2. That depends on the bracket and who you talk to. For the 10-14 bracket I can't be sure, but 20-24 seems to lack decent Warlocks and cloth in general.
3. <Beats on Fourteens> is great and probably the most popular of the 10-14 bracket. 20-24 I can't be sure, but EPIC and EPlC are the popular ones.
4. Check out Beats on Fourteens and their server, for 20-24 Aerie Peak if you're going to roll 20, check out the 2 EPIC/EPlC guilds and their servers.

If you need any more specific information let me know. :)

I'm a huge fan of the F2P bracket, but I would most definitely wait until the pre-MoP patch to hit servers before making your decision regarding the 20-24 bracket; the patch is going to be make a lot of changes to the bracket and some of them may actually make it unplayable.

If you wanted to join F2P, I would either roll a horde toon on Aerie Peak or an alliance toon Vashj.
If you wanted to join 24s (keeping in mind a majority of the bracket would look down on you for doing so :p) then I would consider either Ally or Horde side <Sanctuary> on Alexstrasza or some of the guilds on Spirestone such as <Controlled Chaos> or <Epic> (though not sure what their status is atm).

Feel free to hit up the F2P section for more specific questions in that respect, but generally every class/spec is viable and welcome. I would still wait for 5.04, though. Also feel free to PM for an even harder sell of the F2P bracket haha.

Oh, and read this thread if you haven't already.

f2p wsg solo queue is awful, would recommend joining ap horde

also 24s are really insipid

10-14 sounds too basic, all mechanics and no real strategy around abilities

Come to the nineteen bracket! You get to sit in queue for thirty minutes, get farmed, then complain about being farmed! Or join a guild and get farmed - IN GROUPS! It's notoriously good fun, if you hate yourself and/or have a severe martyr complex!

Ah but in all seriousness, I've only ever played 19s, 39s, and 70s. Briefly. 19 has by far been the most fun for me, despite the ups and downs. In fact, I think that the ups and downs are what makes the bracket so enjoyable. Right now, it's basically find a group to roll with or you'll be destroyed, but that's not hard conserving the amount of active guilds currently participating in games.

Unfortunately, as you're no doubt aware, to say that 19s are imbalanced would be an understatement. Hunters shoot from across the map and do rediculous burst, and a game's outcome can usually he determined by the amount of hunters per faction. But those good games that DO happen, however rare, can really restore your faith in the bracket any day, no matter what anyone will tell you.

My longest and best game ever was on my 14 twink back when the bracket was 10 - 14. I topped damage, caps, and returns. It lasted for 4 hours, the last cap alone took 1 and a half. Score was 2 - 2. And guess what made it so long and fun? Neither team had a hunter.

Shane, im going to be straight forward.
<Eplc> is completely dead. on spirestone horde.
The handful of decent players in it (4) all went to controlled chaos, which right now is the top 24 premading guild, when people dont dodge.
I dont know if you would want to be apart of that though because of your status on twinkinfo. It could cause drama.
Our A team hunter quit due to lack of premades, so we need another hunter.
If you are good at warsong, have good awareness, and have a working mic ( which you probably do), than I can talk to Bb about taking you.
Hunters dont require faction changes either. We also have petros, so if you are real nice to Bb ;D, we could probably hook you up.

Make sure you have fun with what you pick though. If you want to be in a competitive 24 guild PM me.
Whatever you do though if you do pick 24s, please, please don't go to some random guild, and if you do talk them into premading.

The only people that will challenge us are the f2ps on AP.

You sir are dumb.
10 24sv24s
Not 8 man queing to pub stomp f2ps like eplc did.
Herp derp.
Eplc died because all the good players left.
-_-

there is no 10v10 in a level where the pugs are completely insipid. and it makes it even funnier that you "need" an A team hunter

also alliance level 24 pugs are even more absurd than the horde ones.

since 24s are so cancerous to f2p it also makes the f2p pugs pretty shitty (though not insipid, but still retardedly variant). there ARE NO GOOD LV24 PLAYERS, and if there WERE, they would be BORED if they queued with other 24s! (other than something like a 2 man preset horde side). that's why you never see Somfas with anyone.

Our whole guild is bored.
Do you not read?
We only play when we have a premade against another 24 guild.
-_-

Shane, i find that 19's do have a lot of drama and it can really affect how you play IF you get involved with it. If you just gear your character and sit back don't post in the BG chat when a big brawl is going on because of this guild beat this etc you could have the time of your life. 19's does have it's up's because of WT and their current handling of the bracket but when you get into games without of them they become real thrillers. On the note of f2p, it's really fun indeed people on aerie peak horde and vashj alliance are really cool people who will take time out to help you gear etc. this is just my opinion on the matter.
