Fiery MH

As alliance duel wield cruel barbs

MH fiery is by far the best choice for dps, I prefer FIERY/FIERY, but I hear FIERY/AGILITY is good also.

And rogues don't have poisons this early in the game.

But they do have [item]Heavy Sharpening Stone[/item] for WSG. +4 damage is going to give more DPS with a fast weapon...

[ITEM]Shadowfang[/ITEM] 17.8 + F*CK yo' sharpening stone, I win without it = 17.8 DPS

[ITEM]Assassin's Blade[/ITEM] 15.5 + 4/1.9 ~ 17.605 DPS

[ITEM]Wingblade[/ITEM] 15.7 + 4/2.2 ~ 17.518 DPS

[ITEM]Cruel Barb[/ITEM] 15.5 + 4/2.8 ~ 16.928 DPS

[ITEM]Thief's Blade[/ITEM] 14.4 + 4/1.7 ~ 16.752 DPS

In order for these number to be correct for the fast weapons, you need to maintain nearly 100% time-on-target which is obviously not always possible in PvP.

So, using a consumable that only works in BGs and making a theorycrafting assumption that can't possibly hold up in actual practice, the Thief's Blade still loses.

Do sharpening stones suffer from the offhand damage penalty? If not, then assassin's blade would actually be pretty neat for wsg.

I haven't specifically tested it, but I am under the impression that they do suffer from the OH penalty. My nubers were for adjusted weapon DPS based on adding a stone, not taking into account other factors such as the OH penalty.

They all give comparable stats, pushback is no longer a factor, and Sharpening Stones are the closest thing you will get to a poison (without exploiting) at level 19.

If poisons were a contributing factor the debate between Thief's Blade and Cruel Barb or Wingblade would be hugely different and most likely incomparable.

Just for example, I'd take Vendetta at 29 as an OH over anything. However, Thief's Blade would be arguably worse because it's over the GCD (Speed > 1.4 seconds).

However, if we take into account the way of RvR dueling I showed you the other day, we'd have to test if such slow weapons as CB/WB/SF/Etc would be able to hit in a joust(because TB would). So, maybe TB ain't that bad after all. I shall go and seek out for some answers on this Mr. IJustDontLikeTB =D

who cares what the guy that rages over theifs blade thinks. this is pvp not pve, you don't need to min/max your dps. use what makes you play the best or what you feel to be the best. "UR MIZZIN OUT ON WON DEEPZZZZ."

the best rogue i ever saw play used scouts blade OH. if you like what you're using keep using it. .6 dps isn't going to win you a fight

But it will improve your chances.

On topic: I prefer lifestealing to fiery, but I also prefer either of them to +15 agility (at least on my mainhand).

This make Dual AB's the best WSG DPS with Sharpening Stones next to Shadowfang. And Wingblade beats Cruel Barb in WSG with the stones too.

MIND = BLOWN.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or not. I'm not actually ranking AB as a better OH than Wingblade. Considering the tiny difference in DPS (w/stone), the better stats on the WB, and the fact that 2.2 will give a bit more burst than 1.9, I would still take the WB. Not to mention, WB is far more viable in arenas.

The whole point of my post is that, even if you stack the deck in favor of Thief's Blade by applying a new variable that favors a fast weapon, it still ends up losing in the DPS department to multiple weapons and only offers a sidegrade in terms of stats compared to CB and WB.

I know, my point was that for OH DPS (Full AB), AB would pretty much win. You'd be losing 1 Agi and 2 Stam for 3 AP though.
