Does anybody have one? How does it feel? I have one at 29 right now, but the lack of abilities for both bear and cat forms makes me feel gimped... So I'm thinking of leveling towards 39, or even 49. Any thoughts?
I twinked one up and it isnt easy. Sometimes i do awesome, sometimes roflstomped. Survivability is pretty good, and with a glyphd survival instincts, i can really pull a lot of hps, even in cat form. Crit and Dodge are 26% and 28% in cat. You dont hit hard but you hit a lot with 1.0 attack speed. Its kinda like beating someone to death with a whiffle ball bat. Fun, but it takes patience
I made him all dps and crit, convincing myself I could make him a rogue. If you want a rogue roll a rogue dont roll a feral druid.
I havent been playing him very long at all, so maybe I just need more practice
The nice thing about feral druids at 39 would be that mongoose procs in forms now, I see both the wowarmory profiles are using 35 agility, and it is all about preference, but with the right gear set and a mongoose proc you could really tear some shit up.
Eh, you still switch to a spellpower weapon before casting heals. The big reason you use Sav/35 agi instead of Mongoose is that alot of our utility comes from openers, bleeds, etc, for which you cant garuntee mongoose up for.
I havent played my 39 feral drood in AGES. It was fun to do something different, but its just not as effective as balance/resto.
The best feral drood Ive seen (dont remmeber who ) stacked all int/stam and played CC-Bot, Roots/Hibernate/Bash/Feral Charge/etc is some pretty damn effective CC, plus decently strong offheals with a SP weapon.
If its something you want to try, go ahead. Just dont expect it to be easy. Just about every other twink will be better DPS/Healers; but 1v1s can be really entertaining, last a while, and you stand a good chance against just about every class.
feral druids are very versitile and can be a pain in the ass when played properly. feral charge is definately a gamebreaker as it works as an interrupt for bear, a charge for cat, and it is a great tool to get around. they can do pretty decent dps in cat (not nearly as good as rogues at melee), and they are a bit more versatile than rogues in terms of survivability with the ability to use feral charge, bear form, and heals. not very easy to play. but man the good ones are very difficult to deal with.
Lmao . Tell that to Mophots after he has tore you a new hole . Feral is extremely viable at 39 , not only is it a great all rounder , but the DMG is mad too . Yes , you struggle to take down holy pallies / priest but you take everything else quite easily ( Apart from ret pallies xD)
I've yet to see a feral 39 druid that could put out comparable dps to other twink classes. Only one of value I've ever seen is a geared-out, dedicated flag runner.
It can be viable in tank, but it is a bad dps class, try it out, and compare your dps to a hunter, warlock, or mage, and then you will see that 39 feral druids are not for dpsing (but can be viable for other things) .
You still get some damn decent DPS, sure its not as high as other dps classes but you can offheal at the same time, or go bear and tank pretty effectively....
With +20% healing done to you in cat form, you can hot yourself up and out-heal non-glass cannon locks dots; In glass cannon gear I have taken out 2.5k hp glass cannon locks before they could get a fear off.
are ferals worse at DPS than most other dps classes? sure. but, they can keep up with targets VERY well as they are immune to poly and can shift out of snares with 30% extra speed. they can also stealth, heal, and even CC a bit (lolroots). the biggest advantage they have is feral charge, it allows them to keep up with targets even moreso and it allows for a timely interrupt.
i won't say feral is the BEST dps class, but are they VIABLE? yes, as long as they're played well.
