Thoughts, comments, questions? Going to pass on the resil heirlooms, as resil is taking a nerf in 5.3. Still working on farming BoA, Silver Linked, LW, Foremans, and AGMs. Still deciding on a weapon and a few other things.
Ignore obvious things like stam cape, +16 armor kits, etc....
For starters [MENTION=12763]Licholas[/MENTION], I would really like to discuss weapon choice... I also want to know what people think of the Hogger's Shiny route. And I want to hear peoples opinions on heirloom choice, regarding the upcoming resilience nerfs. Oh, and whether or not Dual AGM is going to be BiS again.....
I apologize for posting this in the ratings thread, but I feel this is a more appropriate place to discuss this, rather than the regular forum or Q&A thread.
i think hoggers is the best piece you can get now since boa shields are out so yea thats a good choice sucks to ppl who picked skillpatch/stock shields
Even though resilience is getting nerfed, in my humble opinion a small additional % mitigation of damage from all sources of damage is still better than a small chance to parry a source of damage that makes up a very small subset of all the possible types of damage you may take (unless enemy shield slams, rogue abilities , etc, can be parried).
Thus, PvP shoulders is still better than PvE shoulder for FCing.
If you want to switch to the resilience scaling to nerf numbers, let 1 resil=.202% at level 20. 1 resil may still give A% more resilience than 1 parry=B% parry, or A>B, after the resil nerf.
Mark vs AGM:
Regarding whether or not dual AGMs will be BiS again, having both (Mark and AGM) of their on-use abilities is still BiS. Inherited Mark's on-use (+15% health for 15 sec) gives more health than +12 stamina on even a naked player [assuming +1 stamina=+10 hp]:
(1.15)h>h+120 implies
(.15)h>120, or h>120/(.15)=12000/15=24000/30=2400/3=800.
And that doesn't take into account some extra resil % from Mark.
In order of extra survivability, with M[SUB]u[/SUB] standing for M with on-use ability, here's my guess, including guesses on how effective healths will compare: AGM[SUB]u[/SUB]>Mark[SUB]u[/SUB]>AGM ? Mark. [The ? determined by how much resilience mark will give in 5.3, see below:
Mark > AGM if and only if
(1.4+r+r[SUB]M[/SUB])h>(1.4+r)(h+s), or r[SUB]M[/SUB]h>(1.4+r)s, or if
h>[(1.4+r)s]/r[SUB]M[/SUB],
r being resilience from other resilience items (not from 40% baseline), s being the stamina given from AGM, or 12 [given 1 stam=10 hp], and r[SUB]M[/SUB] being the resilience given from Mark.
When being healed or bubbled by priests, I'm willing to guess that instead Mark > AGM, due to how healing "increases your health pool" by multiplies, or "saves your life multiple times over", and thus boosts the value of resilience in reducing your overall damage taken.
Weapon Options:
With weapon options, I believe there's only 3 to consider [nothing else gives equal to or more than 5 stamina], unless you're going for hit rating options:
Scarlet Kris
Skullforge Reaver
Thrash Blade
WD
22-42
35-65
30-56
Strength
3
Stamina
5
5
Resil
3
3
Parry
3
So, for overall mitigation and stamina, Kris is better. [ew, daggers on a warrior. But the survival stats...]
Below assumes stam-stacking (without direction loss or competition with resilience) is preferred for FCing.
As for the Hogger's Shiny route, it depends on how much you value being hit-capped for charges (which is 13 as Human in battlegrounds). Using hit-rings in place of Hoggers basically defeats the purpose of getting Hoggers.
For you currently (assuming hit-cap for charges is a priority), gorewalkers+Astranaar+Broadsword+Sparkmetals would work. And do I even dare list this+gorewalkers+sparkmetal as another, out of many, hit-capping possibilities? [Personally, I don't recommend the shadowcraft chest, but it's another possibility for hit-capping without losing any stamina, despite the huge loss of 8 str, 8 parry, and armor].
Another possible thought to consider for 5.3:
Assuming strength BoA shield will become live in 5.3, and further assuming it will give 4 strength, 7 stamina, and 4 parry in battlegrounds [just a guess, as there's no real sources yet, except compared to other BoA shields], and somehow enough armor to compete with your current shield [basically enough stats to compete with BFD Shield], would you still prefer the BFD Shield over Thaelrid's Greaves (compared to Foreman's Leggings) for FCing? Strength still helps in giving chances to parry, though not as much as parry rating, perhaps similar to how agi is to dodge.
so my thoughts:
I know people take pride in ther lfh, I know i do. But the fact remains that skillpatch is bis in every gear set except max stamina. Substituting rings, legs, boots, for hit cap is a net loss in strength, stamina, and armor. For this toon, the choice has already been made, and because of this Id suggest you go down the dodge parry route. Champion belt/cloak, ring of defense/hogger ring, boa shield or kresh back, pve chest/shoulder/wep, 2 agm, plus hit legs/boots/bracer. Imo, a max resil/stam build is bis, but then you do become a useless flag holding brick. So, you actually have a lot of gearing options, I have a lot of experience war fcing, and ill say this: when it comes to 10 stack and you have a healthy inc, you feel best about max stam/resil, and so does your team. Anyway ill log in my fc set so you can chek my sig for what i use, gl on finishing your gear btw infantry mog plus steez.
