Hi, everyone! So I just started twinking at 101 and I had a looot of questions, so I felt like I should probably create this thread now. If you have anything you want me to add, just PM me, whisper me in-game, or reply to this thread.
Q: How do I get to 101 fastest?
A: Heirlooms work until 100, so they are useless. I found it very fast to just start questing in Val'sharah. ~2 hours from level 100 on a brand new boosted character.
Q: I am now level 101, now what do I do?
A: Start off by buying as many items on AH as possible. I found ~250-300k gold to be about what you need in order to get to about item level 800 on Stormscale EU Horde as a Warrior. Might be more if you're a cloth wearer. Always try and aim for items with sockets.
Q: Does it matter if I equip cloth as a plate wearer?
A: Yes and no. You will obviously lose some stats, but if your options are item level 700 plate or item level 840+ cloth, you would obviously pick the 840+ items. If the BiS item you need it on AH for 100k+, you can save a bunch of money grabbing another item.
Q: Which stats should I go for?
A: That completely depends on your class and spec. Check out other people's armory profiles and see what they are doing. You can copy most people with a high item level and their items.
Q: Is there something specific I should go for?
A: Yes. Sockets and extra stats. Some of the items can have a socket and/or extra stats (such as Leech or Speed). These are simply extra value for your item, at the cost of absolutely nothing. They are usually a tad more expensive, but it's only a few thousand gold. If all your items are highest level items possible (890 or so), with the extra stats, and with a socket, you basically have the best items in the game. Simple as that.
Q: I heard item level is the one and only thing I should go for. Is that true?
A: Yes and no. If your options are getting a level 850 item vs a 845 with a sicket, then go with the one with a socket. This depends on the item, but in most cases you lose 10-50 in some stats, but you can socket your item to gain more (150 mastery for example).
Q: Legendaries. How?
A: As of this week (week 14 of 2017), you can start buying crafted legendaries on AH. They offer a quite nice item level improvement, and some of them even gives a nice equip bonus.
Q: What if I don't have a few hundred thousand gold to buy a legendary?
A: "Farm" weekly world bosses. Yes, they are level 110 elites and so on, but as long as you hit them, you should get loot and a chance for a legendary. So far, not a lot of people have gotten a legendary from world bosses, but it's definitely possible.
Q: Now that I have my items, what do I do?
A: Complete your Order Hall quests as you go along and get your followers. Start doing follower quests that gives you Artifact Power for your weapon. Make sure you go and upgrade your "Order Advancement" to give you the one that increases chance of getting an upgrade on non-repeatable quests. This is important, as it increases the chance of getting an upgraded relic, which is important for your weapon(s). Complete the rest of the quests for Broken Isles (yes, every zone) to get your relics.
Q: How do I get more Artifact Power?
A: Artifact Power is essential for your class, as it gives you a ton of advantage. There are, as far as I know, two good ways to get Artifact Power: Farm Neltharion's Lair and Archaeology. Archaeology should give a ton of Artifact Power (something like 1000 AP when you use the item), but I heard it has been nerfed quite hard, because level 110s could use it to rush AP very, very fast. The other is my favorite, because it also gives you items you can sell for gold: Neltharion's Lair. Find a group/guild that pugs Neltharion's Lair for Artifact Power. They know 100% what to do. As long as your item level is around 800 (or above), your group should be able to push 6-8 minute runs. Each run gives you two chests randomly placed somewhere (there are like 5 different spots), which each gives you either Order Resources or Artifact Power. Look for the chest on your minimap.
Q: Is there an overpowered item I just simply NEED to get?
A: Yes. Six-Feather Fan. This trinket is extremely overpowered and does a lot of my damage as a Fury Warrior (I heard that's because it stacks on mastery). I see the majority of people on here wear it. If they're not wearing it, they are wearing Eyasu's Mulligan.
Q: I need to make gold with my 101. How do I do that?
A: Reroll Balance Druid and sell runs. Balance Druids are simply overpowered and can solo dungeons relatively easy, meaning you can actually start selling 100-110 levels. Make sure you get the gold up front, as some people on this forum has been scammed for not getting the money first.
Q: Enchants?
A: Rings, neck, and cloak can all be enchanted to give an advantage. I, for example, have 75 Mastery on both rings, 100 Mastery + 2% Speed on cloak, and Mark of the Hidden Satyr on my neck.
