The grind is tough and disgustingly rng dependant. I sympathize with the demoralization, I am usually on the verge of quitting before all of a sudden one of the pieces I need randomly drops.
This ring has motivated me to continue on as I think I'm going to try my hardest to secure that last piece before SL. This is the biggest commitment I've put into one farm like, ever probably (at least on a twink,) and I'll be disappointed if I don't get to see it come to fruition.

After getting 2 sets of the crit wep, shield, and ring (2nd adapt ring as well) I lost interest. Only need the haste ring, adapt wep, and haste shield (literally never even gotten a green one even). Here's hoping SL has less of an rng grind.

Realistically outside of us two I'm not sure how many people have goals similar to ours (full rare single stat rolls.) It seems like RNG hell to us because we're hunting very specific items, it almost feels like insanity doing the same thing on the same character every time you log in to play. Most people BG for a week, get their set of blues (which are most often imperfect suffixes or rolls,) call their toon finished, and move on to the next spec they want to try. We have pretty extreme goals compared to most.
If the general theory turns out to be true (that most of our gear in SL will come from dungeons) then ye, it will be far less RNG dependant.

I'm still holding out that timewalking vendor gear will scale and be purchasable, which will at least help with some slots.
Unfortunately I'm pretty sure we wont know if that's the case until the patch goes live and the first timewalking event happens.
I remember burning out hard after I no lifed the titanforged gear and didnt even get all the pieces. I've definitely done the same with bg crates lol
