Even just a year ago I would've said this "wasn't possible", but I am proud to say that my F2P has now successfully farmed (not just one, but) two complete plate-sets from "Random Drops"... and it only required - *checks folder*
...657 specific RareNPC kills (solo, single-realm)!
Every time I looted an "unlearned" piece of gear, I checked it off my list... so for those interested in the RNG, I now know that it took me 370 kills to complete the Overlord's Plate set:
...then an additional 181 kills to collect the remaining Revenant Plate pieces:
...and finally an extra 106 kills to realize that I'd failed to check-off the very first item I'd found, and I had actually "finished" months ago:
Big shout-out to my homies from the Azshara thread, whose dedication convinced me that this was a goal worth grinding (and here's to being the best-dressed PureF2Ps in the Shadowlands™ starter-prison)!
