F2P - No-No Builds

Boomkins & Fire Mages are bad:

I actually did really bad that game lol, I was trying to get as many defends as possible for ach. I do a lot better than that xD

Fire was fine before the patch. Requires more game sense than the other two mage specs.

Best/Faceroll/Noobfriendly: Arcane Mage, Holy Paladin, Survival Hunter (can go BM but you can't roll your face as much)

"Hardest" spec per class: Restoration Druid; Melee Hunter; Fire Mage; Naked Pally; Holy Priest; Starterdagger Rogue; Specless Shaman; Demo Warlock; Warrior

blanket silence by itself requires more "game sense" than playing a fire mage

you literally just stand there hard casting spells. it's the most noob-friendly spec of all the mage specs

Your the biggest idiot to ever land in this bracket. you honestly have no clue.

Tbh im not quite sure how timing a silence could be harder than dpsing with someone who has to literrally stand still. Seems quite contradicting

He is saying that a fire mage requires nothing more than standing still and hardcasting. Positional and casting awareness is not as relevant, because you are planted in a cast for some time, and rely upon RNG crits to bring someone down. You just stand 40 yards away, and turret.

Arcane has the ability to keep on the move, and blanket silence a healer from instant casts. This requires foresight as to when you should be using that CD. Fire does not have to mentally juggle this....they sit at 40 yards, push Fireball and FB when they pop, and CS if someone casts. Completely reactionary, no thought involved. A bot could do (and I've actually made some pretty solid ones do just that) what a skilled fire mage does.

Ease of play of fire >>>>>> Easy of play of arcane.

Speaking of which, I'd argue that a hunter is the hardest class to play to its maximum potential. Between being both aware of your opponent's positions, you must also be aware of the field you are on for maximum disengages. Maximizing mobility is critical to great hunter play. It just so happens that a shitty hunter is better than almost every good player playing another class, but that should not dismerit those excellent hunter players.

pretty much just.....exactly what goldendays said

and yes, hunter has the highest skill cap at this level by a significant margin. i'd say that warlock is a comfortable #2 mostly because they have no escape mechanism at all, so in order to be successful in BGs you *have* to be good at fake casting, which is easier said than done when every single eyepatcher targets you exclusively since you're.......a warlock

You know this bracket sucks when: skillcap is determined by your choice of direction with disengage.

I love resto druids, i have 2 of them, a 70 and an 85. They are by far my favorite class to play, it makes me sad face how weak they are at 20 especially since they are the most OP healing class at 85...

They aee the most underpowered healing class at 85... By far. They are just as susceptible to burst at 85 as they are at 20... Noo good...

Edit... I don't agree with what Cotus and Goldendays are saying.. I believe that you have to have that same situational awareness as an arcane, or frost mage has, blanket silence or no blanket silence you still want to catch that healer in the middle of his heal, good mages also need to know who/when to sheep, its all the same thing only fire/frost mages have to sit and cast (fire more than frost obviously) would I say any spec is harder to be successful? Yes. Easier to play and skill cap? No those are two different things, I agree that fire is maybe easier to play than frost/arcane but not easier to be successful...

boomkins are impossible to play, blizz should buff me..... >:3

(see wat i did thar?)

I was talking PvE wise, PvP really does not interest me in the slightest at 85.

The reason I said that is because they are so OP at PvE at 85 they will probably never see a susbstancial PvP buff in the near future.

Blizz nerfs and buffs classes for endgame and what can be extremely OP at 20 (hunters) really doesn't stand a chance at endgame (again, hunters) so they might receive a buff. That makes us über nerd rage and makes us want to ninja all blizzards loot but sadly they spend their resources and money on where most of the players are, endgame.

using CS correctly and being good at kiting are the only 2 things that require even a modicum of skill as a level 20 mage.....you have like 10 total abilities - and it just so happens that arcane gets both imp CS and an instant cast dps skill, allowing you to kite effectively

honestly everything at this level is just so easy that i can't have a serious conversation about what is more "difficult" than what

Oh I agree here, everything is "easy" in this bracket, i think when we use that word though its more in terms of relativity... ya know?

Cotus we can still be friends...
<
haha

Off topic, too bad tomorrow most of my day is slammed, i want to get a good start on AB weekend, there is much honor to be had!!!

I think that fire mage can be good in F2P bracket after 4.3. In 4.2 Fire was underpowered. Frost and Arcane have more tools but fire has pyroblast, and it is great since it can crit huge amounts and on top of that instant fire blast and target is usually dead if pyro crits. (And pyro has great DOT) If target is not dead there is always frost nova -> blink -> fire ball. And it is fun to crit alot.
