F2P Elemental shaman?

Title pretty much sums it up. Would i get totally demolished if i decided to roll a elemental shaman? Or do they have some kind of chance?

I don't see that many elemental shamans out there so i thought i would ask here.

Would appreciate some feedback!

I'm super new to the class, but I did a few arenas last night and they were incredibly fun.

In terms of dealing damage, the biggest difficulty I've faced has been the range on my damage spells. With so many ranged dps in this bracket, it's sometimes difficult to close the gap and still get casts off.

However, I think their biggest power lies in their utility: purging, TSing to split targets/silence, a 10s cd windshear!! So on and so forth.

I say give it a shot! I'm loving my new twink :)

the guy in that video is seriously bad. he's fighting a hunter and dpsing the hunter meanwhile people around him are getting killed. then he's dpsing another hunter with a HoT that can be purged and he lets it tick tick tick away. And lulz @ TSing a hunter to give the hunter range again. Not to mention literally clicking from the UI people to heal.

Ele is a one trick pony. TS is cool but i'd much rather have my HS crit on myself for 850 or 900 than 500.

Yeah ele is alot of fun, but don't expect to enter a bg and faceroll your way to 20 kb's though. Like Tuskytim said you're most likely to spend the majority of your time healing your teammates, I find that most of the time my healing done will double or even triple my damage done for a bg. Also the 30 yard range gimps you pretty hard, and its frustrating when a hunter can s-key out of range before you get a lightning bolt off.

But don't let that deter you from playing an ele sham, they are loads of fun and can be competitive if played correctly.

In this case it was indeed kinda bad, but to new ele shamans! Knocking a hunter back isnt always bad if:

1) You can finish him (not to get an xtra kb, but before he starts running or when ur almost dead its a fine end burst.)
2) If you can knock him into your teammates, because remember a ele shammy shouldnt look at its own kbs, since you are a support class.
3) This one is what i find interesting. There are alot of bad hunters in this bracket, and alot should not be thunderstormed. But sometimes you find the so called "agressive bad" the hunter that wont run away. When you are sure he wont run thunderstorm to interrupt the cast shot is actually really great.

LOL. You just totally killed my enjoyment for that vid :p Good points, maybe not so cool as I thought it looked. Well, I assumed he TS'd the hunter to give himself more time to get away.
lolololol. Idk.
