hello all,

since the new achievements where added with 10.1.7 it would be great if everyone who face some professions which are only able to max through dmg quest.

actually I stuck at vanilla skinning on lvl 206 - only possible to max via dmf quest.

also on legion mining lvl 90 - also just possible to max via dmf quest.

because actually the world boss within legion is on for skinning recipe - I would like to know if its possible to max legion skinning just by skinning mobs?

Okay so this is my current profession leveling:

Classic: Mining seems to have stopped at 290, there is prob some way to go to 300, but have not really tried yet. Skinning stopped at 205. (Currently leveling Leatherworking which is why it's low)

TBC: All works, some are just painful to level up

WotLK: All works, some are just painful to level up

Cata: All works, some are just painful to level up

MoP: All works, super easy

WoD: All works, you can level by just farming Garrison Resources from the cache and using the Trading Post to buy materials, super chill.

Legion: Most will stop at 80 due to level req on the quests, Tailoring stopped at 90 iirc, Inscription went up to 100 with a rank 3 recipe I bought in DMF. For Herbalism do the last skills in the The Broken Shore. Don't remember Mining, but since I have it maxed you can prob max it somehow.

BFA: Most will stops at 150, due to 150-175 being added in a later patch, so all recipes are in Nazjatar. I think Leatherworking and all gathering professions were different tho.

Shadowlands: Enchanting for SL stops at like 95 or something, depending on how many Epic crystals you managed to get from quest / rare upgrades. Rest were actually fairly easy.

Great explanation - Thanks

Thank you very much for this helpful overview. I think it will need very much to follow your example…

Actually within Koraks AV it’s also possible to max DF Skinning. You are not able to receive a loot, but at max the achievement;-)

MoP: All works, super easy
Just wanted to add that if you already have the farm at Sunsong Ranch and have I think Revered rep? (which is pretty easy to get imo) you can get mats ez too just pay some gold for bag of 40 seeds of your choice, or motes of harmony to exchange at Shrine (particularly useful if u need trillium or golden lotus eg).

@Conzil Classic mining 300 requires either rich thorium veins or the obsidian from AQ20 (not entirely sure). There is also the +5 skill quests from Darkmoon Faire, those always increase your oldest skillset.

does someone know how to max legion Engineering? I could not find any purchase able rank 3 pattern up to 1k

Can we get to Nazjatar for higher level Engineering recipes? Or are we talking 13 months or so of DMF?

And that Expulsum is horrible to source.
Expulsom is mostly obtained from trinkets (they have the highest chance to drop it when scraped) so it would be a good ideea to target those when farming open world rares, BfA dungeons or crafting them via other proffesions (like alchemy).
Edit: regarding Engineering you an buy rank 2 and 3 recipes for pvp patterns (Boralus!/Zandalar) but for the final strech it will take close to a year of DMF to reach max (for me it was a bit faster since I have done it before they changed the proff quests and it gave 5 skill points.)
