would, the excess experience is not clamped off
but it doesn't make you gain two leves either
Was this ever successful? Did the attempt even happened?
I agree that it will more than likely simply make you the most experienced F2P 20 here, and not any higher, but I still think it's worth doing just to see. It would have been simple when the dungeon exploit was working. I'm not sure it wasn't done then. I've tried queueing then inviting and it won't let me on a paid account, so fixed, or was I simply not fast enough? I'm also wondering if someone drops if you can invite then to get someone to run you through a random.
Oh, we have a level 19 trial Warrior ready at 18XP from 20.Much like many of the things started here, there was a lot of talk and zero practical result. The exploit would have probably jumped a level 1 passed 20. The problem is the other methods will cut it so close that you will need to level a 19 to just before 20 and then rely on a bit of luck from various outside factors you have no control over. Also, they can only be done during CtA weekend.
All of that means there's a lot of setting up involved beforehand, and so far no actual attempts have been made. Again, while I still think you'll just end up with the most experienced F2P 20 around, I still consider this worth trying, if for no other reason, just to find out.
OT, but nice AFK.Good to hear. I'm sure you'll report back when there actually is anything to report.
I'm offended that you didn't know who I am. :<Hehe yeah, I zoned in mid game, didn't think you were going to attack, you did, wasted stun. Back and forth a few times, your hunter is Thirk? I got you, then I got another hunter and paladin combo on me. I never really got my bearings that match and didn't think it was worth continuing burning so many CDs in the first minutes.
somehow either we're not having the same conversation or we're saying the same thing differently just for the sake of confrontation. you said "IMHO on trial account you wont gain experience at 20 and thus not trigger leveling even if you already had enough experience to go to 21 "
so I said "...then i wouldn't have 700 xp @20 (the excess when I dinged carried over)....which is why the curious are curious. "
I HAVE 700XP @20, not only WOULD I...but i DO, which is why people are wondering if it'll work. they're wondering about the carry-over and how far it'll stretch. No one knows if this has ever been done (or tried and denied) on a f2p or p2p account.
if i couldn't get xp at 20, then i'd have 0 or 1 xp, not 700. i hit lvl 20, the bar reset, then the remaining 700 was applied.
hence the curiosity.
what I'm saying is this:
you gained the excess 700 xp at 19, not at 20
I assume you gain only one level at once
so you get to 20, with enough excess experience for 21, but you will not gain experience ever again, and the leveling to 21 will not trigger
This all assumes that Trial accounts are NOT set to "MAX" level of 20 in the same way that a BC account is set to 70, if that is the case there may be a hardcoded backstop to prevent the gain. Otherwise, as a F2P account is essentially a BC account, there is a potential for the jump.
I think the exp gain event handler does single level up when you pass the xp ceil for the actual level and doesn't check if you should gain 2 or more levels or so
coding it that way may look incomplete localy, but it is most resistant aganist bugs and exploits etc
but lets see how it turns out
