Taurens are the most noble race. How can anyone not get into that? I can't play anything else.
TBH normally I prefer ally, but I also prefer playin' the underdog
My first f2p was ally but after I did some rounds as horde and saw how different pugs were as far as gear and win rating I really couldn't get into playing ally again, and the fact that I can queue up and play instead of waiting 10 min just sealed the deal. Little bit of a bummer since "Kearbear" is the name I reserve for my nelf druids, but as Imirak says Tauren are fun too. Who doesn't want to be a giant nature loving cow?
Edit: oh and one last bummer about horde... I don't like any of the female race models so I have to play a guy D:

Horde also get Faded Wizard Hat - Item - World of Warcraft, which I use whenever I'm healing 5-mans. I get to be any race!

You get used to it though and it's a new experience which really helps if you're at the burnt out phase. I had tried to make a few horde characters and each time something bad happened, like on my shaman, got into a terrible dungeon group and was carrying them with my terrible gear. Then I d/c'd and my internet was just out for the night.
Then I had been leveling my horde paladin for sometime, casually mostly, and Sunday came along figured it would be nice to try for the hat. and oddly enough I get it. After I felt obligated to play her, having the bis horde head slot and throwing it away would be rather rude. So, I played and met some really cool people, hung out with old horde players I knew but never really got to talk to. Now I can't stand alliance chat/new folks, horde has so many people it's easier to overlook the bad apples, I miss Rhaellia but my friends play horde at least the majority so I do too.

...for now anyhow.
I wouldn't mind playing alliance if not for the longer queue times. Many times I'll pop on to do something and only have 30-40 minutes to dedicate to playing.
plus my horde has pretty much every rare thing imaginable already that i'd want as far as gear goes so i could never just abandon him
