Cata inscription iirc gives +1 / +1 at 10 to shoulders, but you need to keep it. (also, it only gives you credit for the +1 mainstat, secondary isn't counted to stats)
I powerleveled it for the +1/+1 then dropped and the chant turned red, so I'll be levelin it again.
Seems the only profession related item enhancements you can use then drop would be the wotlk engineering belt grenade and the mop LW pants chant. Rest have requirement to keep profession, like inscription, iirc
