So, yeah, really dumb question, wondering if anyone happens to know a way to fix an issue of mine.

I'm currently playing WoW on a netbook,(Please, don't laugh...just...yeah, it sucks....), and I'm trying to create a character with alternate letters.

But, issue is, no numberpad. So does anyone have a way around this? Because Google doesn't give straight answers anymore :/

Bah. It was worth a shot.

Open the windows start menu. Type in "charmap". Press enter.
(Or: To open Character Map, click Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Character Map. )
Select the key you want to use. Click copy. ALT+Tab to WoW char creation.
Paste the special character with Ctrl + V.

Google the characters you want.. copy and paste.. it's what I do to look up my characters with special letters. I don't memorize those codes

Wikipedia the letter and copy paste from there. I have a macro in game with a weird letters incase they come in handy.

1) Go to the windows button
2) Click the windows button
3) Type "OSK"
4) Run OSK
5) Click "Options" in the lower right hand corner of OSK
6) Click "Turn on Numeric Keypad"
7) Close the dialogue box launcher
8) Click NumLock
9) Done.

Or you could just copy (Ctrl + C) and paste (Ctrl +V) the alt key characters, but my way is more enlightening.

I ran into the same problem, I know all the codes having spoken/written French for almost a decade now, but my laptop doesn't have a numpad. I tend to try and avoid making toons with the symbols now though, just to make it easier for people to add me/find me/etc.
