Don't think I can abide Verdant Keeper's Aim

I thought I wouldn't mind much because I'm Survival and not relying on ice traps or scatter, but the thing is scrapping too many Wyvern Stings. Sort of a drag but It's time to go back to the Guttbuster and hand crafted munitions...

Any hunters out there fiddle with a macro or something to save their CC using the Verdent Keeper's Aim? I'm just sad because I remember loving the bow so much in Vanilla, seems like rip though.

You didn't roll with the mm/surv hybrid spec for scatter?

Na, it's not worth it imo. You have to give up Counterattack, which I would rate on par with Scatter for most of the situations that come up, and it can't be broken. Sure it's not as good against casters but you're also giving up Lightning Reflexes, Killer Instinct, and Wyvern Sting with that build. Hawkeye is the thing missed the most, followed by Mortal Shots and Imp Multi, but I just don't think they stack up that favorably.

Scatter/Survival is still a really good build though, and if you don't like Wyvern Sting I think it's the way to go.

I feel like with traps, and the talents into entrapment you can almost always gain distance again. I do absolutely see the viability in Counterattack though.\

The thing is, Wyvern Sting can win games and the ~4% Crit and ~70 AP you're getting from Killer Insticts and Lightning Reflexes beats Mortal Shots. I don't personally think anyone is getting enough Crit to make Mortal Shots that amazing, although it's obviously the biggest bump to burst damage available, but the Crit and AP are helping with burst plenty.

It is very annoying to have it break scatter all the time, as far as I know there is no way to prevent proc on an attack.

Admittedly I'm new to the bracket, but scatter is invaluable as both a peel and an interrupt. I could never imagine taking wyvern as alliance for sure because every game seems to have at least 3 shamans to dispel and 7 undead with wotf almost nullifying it.

Might have to give it a try though at some point.

You must have forgotten how many Paladins and Dwarves of all types Ally run! I'm up against more poison dispelling tryhards than you might imagine. Scatter is great, I don't think anyone should feel like the 21/19 build is bad in any way, but I promise that if you play enough Hunter you don't need Scatter as much as you think, and deep Survival has a lot to offer.
