Don't buy any heirlooms until 5.3

there's a 10+ page 5.3 thread under this one, and i'm sure this is in there, but i think this is worth its own note

"The cost of heirlooms is reduced by 60%"

edit: yeah, the Blizz note says upgrades, wowhead says 'cost of heirlooms', so there's a good chance it's just upgrades, but I'm still waiting to see how it pans out. I could be ringing a false alarm, but 60% is a poop load of grinding.

The amount of Justice, Honor, and Darkmoon Faire tickets needed to upgrade Heirloom items will be reduced by 60%

Problem solved, this is the only part of text while contains "heirlooms" and "60%" in the same sentence. Thus we can safely assume its just for upgrades.

TI VET JUNO0 n1 detective.

This is off topic but they should make ftps be able to mail at least to their alts.

if it does include regular heirlooms i would be disappointed, the effort/time it takes to get boas is what makes them rewarding

eh, it would be nice but the limitation is there for good reason. if you wanna blame someone, blame gold farmers/sellers, if they never plagued trade chat and /yell, im sure we wouldnt have nearly as many limitations

Dunno i dont buy it really. They could just give us a bunch of hoops to jump through. All they would have to do is look at time spent on a toon and whatever work went into it to see that we're not gold farmers. I think they just restrict f2ps to give us an incentive to purchase the game/monthly sub.

well overdue change imo sht is HARD to grind man i want everything easy the less honor for my bot to grind for looms the better

to be honest i would think f2p activity would cause MORE suspicion. they could suspect lots of things like grinding out honor/dmf tickets for boas then selling the account so it can be upgraded with boas already on it. im grateful that blizz doesnt keep a closer eye and take that as blessing enough to be left alone

I don't think they're worried about it, they make billions a year off there subs and box purchases. with f2p restricted the way we are, it doesnt matter if we buy or sell or trade because we cant effect the game economy.

F2Ps does get them more money. If it wasnt of F2Ps I wouldnt have tried like 8 times to resub and HOPE that P2P has become better.... and just end up quitting again after 30 minutes of playtime (not even kidding)

I'd rather ha e to work for a piece once Instead getting everything over and over. Blizz just wants us to pay.

They do suspect those things. I actually had a GM accuse me of exactly what you said once. "Some people don't like to level through the early areas so they buy trial accounts instead."

I took a look on the PTR. The BoA cost is the same (at DMF, JP Heirloom Vendor and Honor Heirloom Vendor), the upgrade cost has dropped.

New Patche notes today

Patch 5.3 will also reduce the price for the new heirloom items added in Patch 5.2 by 60%. Don't forget that two new Heirloom shields that cost 2175 Justice Points each are also coming in Patch 5.3!

  • Heirlooms purchased with Justice points had costs reduced from 2175, 2725, and 3500 Justice Points to 870, 1090, and 1400 Justice Points.
  • Heirlooms purchased with Honor points reduced from 2175, 2725, and 3500 Honor points to 870, 1090, and 1400 Honor points.
  • Heirlooms purchased with Darkmoon Faire prize tickets reduced from 110, 130, and 160 prize tickets to 44, 60, and 64 prize tickets.
