EU+US does anyone even play shaman anymore?

Nobody in this entire thread excluded... I've played against and with most Resto/Elemental Shams... and when they get numbers like 25 kills and 75k plus damage ... they ONE HUNDRED PERCENT have a disco priest strapped to their balls healing them the ENTIRE game.

If they say otherwise just laugh at that kid and move on... cause its bullshit. Resto healing (and especially not Elemental) does not save you from any competent DPS that gets on your face with any kind of interrupt.

the healing isn't great but the amount of kite you have is ridiculous, i barely even needed to heal

horde had no other twinks except simm & ballsmcface (& i believe they were 20 f2ps)
alliance had 3 twink warriors & 1 twink hunt
(and ofc >half their team was sitting on me the entire game bc i was killing everyone)

need a priest btw 4head

I’m certainly seeing a lot more Shammy’s these days.
Resto’s are insane, especially well played ones.
Very difficult to take down 1 v 1 if they’re decently geared.

Easy to kite people with a goblin shaman my friend. Even easier to juke them into using their interrupts with lava burst. Hell, I run circles around DPS sometimes just for fun! Lol... shamans and totems are a great distraction. Lots of people that play DPS are easily distracted. Almost as if they have ADHD.

I feel like enhance is solid for some bursty DPS and Bloodlust in Arena/BGs. Elemental is just weak. And as a former Resto Shammy, they seem pretty bottom of the barrel for PvP healing. They just get interrupted and caught up too easily and Blizzard had the nerve to take away their Gust of Wind.

And yeah, seeing them in PvP is exceptionally rare nowadays.

The reason you don’t see them a lot is they aren’t FotM. People tend flock to FotM classes and specs. Especially new players. Shaman as a whole really have never been FotM for an extended period.
I have played resto shaman for a very very long time. And at practically at all levels of game play. It has been one of the most stable classes in the game. Very rarely does a patch come along where they are the worst healer or the best healer in WoW.

Now's the time to play the funky classes as well, not to many twinks and you can get away with FoTM garbage builds and blow up level 20 levelers in greens/missing items and feel good about it. Roll out that enhancement shaman, cause when all the twink rogues come back you wont be playing that turd or at least having any fun playing it, just like this elemental/resto junk.

I have seen Phon play in many opposing games and I have NEVER seen anything close to 40 kills and 100k damage, ever from him or any other resto/elemental... ever. I don't know if those are coming from some 2am trash game where there are nothing but levelers on or whatever... but, I usually see any Twink Resto/Elemental doing about 50k and 15 or so kills. The abilities just don't do that much damage... period... I don't care if you are full glass cannon with Spell power Extreme Goggles/Rot Cloak 260+ intellect JUST FREE CASTING into the enemy with no retaliation; you are firing lighting bolts/lavaburst slow as hell and the damage is not that great. Unless there is some MAGICAL damage scaling going on at level 20 versus level 29 where the damage is 2x as good as every other twink Resto/Elemental I have ever seen, its just BS or fighting trash.

Eh, really if you're a good enough player you can play any class. I could give a list of all things that each healer is good and bad at. But there's a reason that Shaman are on the decline right now. Same reason why the majority of 1.8k+ rated healers are either Disc Priests or Resto Druids at the moment.

i remember screenshotting it for people i was talking with in discord because i couldn't believe we 4 capped when we had fewer twinks

after playing 12 hrs + every day for a week i think i have a good feel for the bracket now, entirely played on shaman.

resto is absolutely insane. no one will ever beat you 1v1, the worst that can happen is a stalemate with another shaman/hpal/disc priest. your lightning bolts and lavabursts hit like chaos bolts and pyroblasts. and flameshock is basically the same dps as an entire affliction lock bundled into 1 instant cast button. and thats not even getting into windshear, the best interrupt in the game, earthbind totem being extremely useful as well, it just has SO much going for it.

enhancement shaman is not as bad as people say it is. honestly with the right setup and understanding of positioning and rotation priority etc it can be as potent, if not more than a fury warrior even at 20 without its very important windfury passive. stormstrike hits like a truck often between 400 and 500. but where enh shaman really shines is proc enchants. with flametongue and proc weapons every single swing will produce multiple numbers, making it one of the best specs for procing satyr/elemental force
*note* enh shaman is terrible without vet enchants

elemental shaman is a complete meme. its lightning bolts/lavabursts are LESS THAN HALF the damage of resto's. which makes no sense at all. youre losing all your healing and 50%+ of your damage for.... earthshock.

for those who interested in enh spec i have a few thoughts:
first of all, as SupremeChaos said - enh sham is pretty bad comparing to fotm classes and specs; all his tools is pretty mediocre and almost all that enh do, someone else will do better:
-his sustain is prob the worst
-mobility is ok but compared to druids...meh
-no cc other than qustionable totem(back in the days ppl used to have macro for killing totems with rank1 of any spell) and gust
-dmg is decent but rogues, warriors and many others can do much more
u cant duel anyone - literaly all other classes can abuse u 1x1 in most situations, so u wont try to challenge arathi and eos hotspots vs 1-2 well geared twinks
however enh provide great help with bursting down those pesky priest and boomkins - u stack ur stormstrike, drop earthbind on em and do about 1-1.5k dmg in 2 gcd.

i noticed that most dmg i do with EF

so i tried to boost it with crit chance and vers - this is prob the most efficient way to do dmg w/o BIS gear.
imo if u have pocket healer u can go with less crit, more haste and full ap to have consistent dps and huge stormstrike+lava lash combos.
im also curious about mop and bfa weapon enchants like Dancing Steel wich can prock during distant stacking of maelstrom.

i disagree with this a bit. i honestly think enh shaman is not bad. yes standalone there is quite a few better classes in the damage department, say all rogues,mm/bm hunter/arcane mage in particular. but shaman provides a good amount of utility and has good burst potential which is all the damage that really matters in pvp, dot fluff damage looks good on paper but ultimately means nothing.

a enh shaman by himself is terrible, but if the team is allowing the enh shaman to freecast by supporting him i think its one of the most scary dps classes, right below outlaw rogue and arcane mage

So I made a resto shaman as my second twink, im not even 300/300 profs yet like I am on my disc, and im doing more heals and damage per match with increased mobility.

As you can see I still need engineering helm, a lot of pieces can be upgraded with blue BG crate gear, I need alchemist flask, etc

Shamans are good! I feel like its harder to play well with shaman than disc priest but it feels really rewarding.

Any even semi geared rogue can pop out 4 hit and put a bullet in any shaman's ass that is geared as "glass cannon intelligence" before the shaman can do anything... heal or otherwise.

I will stipulate that recently there has been way more people in greens/missing gear slots than ever before, so its not that difficult to get 100k and multiple kills. When we get back to less trash and more twinks those "rofl" numbers will go away, and it will be back to around 30-40k damage and 12+ kills for restos, I have been in multiple games and seen phron get melted by rogues, 1 or 2 and have games were its just 30k damage and almost no kills.

It just depends on what trash you are fighting.
