EU+US Do I unlock xp?

So i'm gonna let my sub fall, do I need to unlock XP on my lvl 20 toons cuz i heard many ppl were having issues where they couldn't queue bgs / arenas as their XP was automatically turned on after letting sub fall? Can anyone confirm?

better unlock your xp, i got a message that starter accounts cant q for bgs/arena so i wrote a ticket, got 3 days gametime, unlocked xp - gametime ran out and now im able to q
