Putting up impressive numbers is what makes you known in this bracket. This is the reason everyone does it. The only time i'm spam shielding is about 5-10 seconds before the initial mid-clash at the beginning. this way you get some absorbs out and weakened soul is falling off just as someone takes enough damage to break it.
