This was a comment made by Delind on a post for the sale of 885 Fan trinket. I think it's a great arguement for helms, shoulders, gloves etc, but a trinket that the proc gets significantly better the higher the item level gets? Can't tell if this person just doesn't know what they are talking about or purposely down talking the item to get the purchase for cheaper. Either way let's stop this kind of behavior. I don't know about everyone else, but if someone has something great, I let them know.

On a side note, though no socket or stat, I value it at 300k being 885 and a Fan. I think that's fair, would like to hear other people take on if you think the value should be higher being a trinket that all dps classes use.

Myself Personally, unless something like the 810 relics appear again AND are obviously a bug, I will not spend more then 100k on any given item. Bar none.

Why? Simply put, the longer this expansion goes, the more BoEs are relegated to alt leveling gear. As it stands right now relinquished gear for a fresh 110 has pretty good odds of being a higher ilvl then most available BoE items people will see. (Obviously some fringe cases, but my 110 got lucky and has 2 ilvl900 relinquished pieces). This means that the market for BoEs is quickly being relegated to two groups of people.

1. People Leveling Alts

2. Twinks.

Group 1 won't be buying BoEs shortly because Blizz is bumping Heirlooms up to 110.

Group 2 has been, and always will be, a fickle lot. Some have more gold then they know what to do with and will pay just about any price. Others refuse to pay anything and will spend way too many hours farming something just to not have to pay for it. But my thought process is thus:

Most upgrades, while being an upgrade, will at this point have diminished returns to my overall ilvl. This makes the bonus in pvp less lucrative.

Most upgrades, while being an upgrade, will only marginally decrease the time I spend doing NL, or other dungeons. (I understand that 5 seconds over a lot of NL runs adds up, but if I'm hitting the lockout timer it doesn't really matter to me after that)

Most upgrades, while being an upgrade, will not bridge the gap to help me faceroll 110s. Between honor talents and the higher base ilvl that is becoming available to 110s you can't just roll people.

So really it's a matter of bragging rights to me at this point from my perspective. Which to some people is a pretty damn good reason to spend gold. To me personally, not so much. Overtime if the items don't sell, prices will drop and I may come home drunk transfer somewhere and buy a 500k ilvl 900 w/leech item. But I can't justify in my head spending a wow-token worth of gold for no noticeable difference on my toon.

Again, if you can sell it for 500k AND someone is happy to buy it for 500k awesome. More power to you. Just know that unless I drink a lot of rum, it won't be me XD

Indeed, YOU value it at 300K, doesn't mean the Market supports 300K for an 885 anything without a Socket. I presented why using in game actual facts, you didn't agree with my facts. It's certainly your choice not to agree with me and you are more than welcome to tell another Member what YOU think something is worth, but when you try and tear down what someone ELSE thinks it's worth then make another Thread saying we should stop this kind of behavior I've gotta lol.

Price talk is fine and your right it is opinion base. Sort of. Let me explain. When we are talking about the usefulless of trinket for for dps, yes a 3rd stat is nice as well as gen socket, but if we're talking titanforged on an item that gets MUCH better the higher the item level, you gotta stop and do the math behind it. 80kish procs on 885 vs your 10% of your damage done with 40k procs with your 845ish on some of your toons, you said it yourself. U can't sit there and say it's not an amazing trinket. Me and everyone else doesn't care about what people price things at, your entitled to your opinion. When it comes to math, you are not

So with that being said, you can't say a leech 870 socket legs isn't on the same level as a trinket like this, meaning 300k+

That's a bit apples to oranges.

Samnoh's legs is worth intrinsically more then the other 3 BoE Legs based on the relative power they afford. All other armor types have an ilvl800 quest pair of legs. Thus Samnoh's will always be greatest baseline upgrade.

Alternatively, the BoE leather chest will always be less of an upgrade by comparison due to the availability of an ilvl800 chest.

Cloth BoEs in general are worth more to a clothy due to lack of using multiple armor types to choose from.

Just like a Six-Feather Fan is worth more to an enhance Shaman due to mastery interaction then to other classes as mastery effectively doubles it's damage output.

Ultimately an items relative worth is dictated by what it does for a character, and what value a player puts on that.

Math can tell you what an item will give your character, math doesn't magically put a price to it. You're putting what you think that price is to it. Ultimately, buyers put a value to that and have different opinions on it based on what they want their twink to do. If you already kill everything you touch in 10 seconds or less, you might not value doing 10% more damage as much as someone who takes 30 seconds to kill a mob.

lol it's relative worth is based on what it does for your character. This isn't just a good enhance trinket. It's the BIS dps trinket for all classes. My 101 mage even uses it. Tho therefore must be worth much more than other items as all classes need to get their hands on it no? Or let me guess ur gunna say how it's not BIS for all dps. Lolol

6FF definitely is in a class of its own. Hard to compare it in any fashion to the rest of the 101 BoEs due to it's raw damage ability regardless of class, as well as its unusually powerful scaling with increased ilvl. Upgrading my DK's plate gloves by 40 ilvls will not yield the same kind of damage increase as upgrading a 6FF by 40 ilvls.

Aswell as fury warriors mastery damage scaling. 855 fan I have ticks for 350-400k

Man this thread just seems petty. Alls the guy was asking for was a ballpark figure so he didn't get ripped off.

At the end of they day it's worth what people will pay for it. At least we've got Shunk here to talk sense.

100k < 300k < 400k
Your value is above his minimum value and below his maximum value, so what's the problem?

Lol, I'd say 300k. I think this on the same level as a titanforged, lower item level like 870 with leech item such as legs or shoulders, considering it's a trinket and very high item level. And the fact this one gets very OP the higher the item level. I've personally payed 300k for a socket leech item level 840 mulligan trinket AND switched servers to get it, and I'd like to think I'm not even as hardcore as some people. But he said he's keeping it so meh

I think that enough people have put their two cents In to close this. All have said the trinket is beast for their dps classes. So for delind to down talk it like it's not that great anymore is sketchy and misinforming to say the least. I'm simply being the voice of reason. I don't even want to buy it, I just don't want to see a fellow twink get jipped on an amazing item

i would pay 500K for that amazing trinket. Doesnt matter if it has no bonus stats because its still op for a lot of classes

Read abit of this and Im so confused, everyone who twinks knows that items have no price tag. 1 server might sell a 890ilvl item for 700k and another server might sell it for 150k (like mine). So many factors come into it.
Does the seller wanna get the items sold fast, then they put it up at a rather low price. do they wanna get the item sold for a lot more profit, then it will probably take a longer time to sell.
do the buyer really want/need the item he probably will buy it for more then what the items could* go for.
is the buyer patience he will wait for the item to be sold at the price he wants.

everyone have different mindsets, so asking for what a item is worth well gl with that

I find it laughable that you created a NEW thread specifically to call @DeLindsay out for responding to someone else's different thread with an explanation you disagreed with...

...on something opinion based in the first place.

i said at beginning of my post I don't know if he just doesn't know how good it is or if he's down rating item for purchase. It was and is still clear that they didn't realize how great this item is. I'm glad I brought this to light because it shows not everyone knows what they are talking about. I certainly don't but I know enough about this trinket to call someone out who is claiming it's been nerfed and not great anymore. It's very good and the one of question was 885, which with pic is more than great

putting in my 2 copper. Trusted Goblin over at the wowecon sub-reddit so hopefully my input has some sort of meaning behind it.

Obligatory disclosure for relevance: 90% of my goldmaking comes from flipping items and selling boes on the AH.

When it comes to an 885 SFF with no socket or tertiary (using TUJ as a reference) the US median price is listed at ~145k. EU os ~230k.

I didn't see the thread above about him selling it so i don't know if he is indeed US or EU, so that alone has a huge "what if" factor on what it could sell for. Now, onto other things, it also strongly depends on his realm. If his realm is a high population realm where many twinks are around then he'll have a higher chance at selling it faster and, possibly, at a higher price due to it's sheer ilvl. Do note though that items "value" is solely based off of how much someone is willing to pay for it. So again.. That part alone will heavily dictate the price he can ask for it. IF he's on a med pop realm he can ask all day long for 400k but since the population is smaller (and serious twinks are already small group) he'll be sitting on that for months.

So @DeLindsay isn't wrong, in a sense, but he isn't completely right either and neither are you OP. Yes, he can ask for 300-400k all day long, but that doesn't mean it'll sell for that much.

Now, for the moral side of this post.. I do think that you making a post simply to call DElindsay out (rather than acting like a grown man and confronting him through PM or something else) is pretty damn childish and very immature. IF you don't agree with him, contact him about your opinions and why you believe you're right. To flaunt out dirty laundry over a disagreement you had between your opinions and try to justify making it a thread in its own to "prove you're right" is just petty. Why not act like a grown adult and next time just contact him about it, you don't need our opinions or input about what we "think about him" or to justify your opinion over his.
