Define "Exploit"

450 professions - legit (never got)

BC leg armors - legit (had many)

Librams - legit (had a few)

Fishing gear from STV - legit (had / have)

Mining bug - exploit (didn't do)

Enti- exploit (did)

WotLK leg armors - Exploit (Didn't do)

WotLK fishing gear - Exploit (Haven't yet... will try if they don't do something)

It appears as if you classify them according to how powerful they are, not how they are obtained.

Only thing I really consider consider exploiting is lag macros/movement tricks/ability tossing/LoS topping. The other things that are working not as intended are just bugs.

According to WoWwiki abusing ingame bugs is also exploiting (bug exploit).

Game Mechanics Exploits / Bug Exploits - There are also other exploits involving the physics of the game, sometimes in conjunction with items. This includes using wall-walking to get into unfinished areas or abilities to make one's character unattackable by other players.

Hmmm IDk, Things that were bugged or you had to abuse a bug to get were exploits and things that weren't were not. Example: Enti's was bugged and did way too much damage: bug 450 professions: You had to grind to 450 herby to get that wtf hot and it was roughly as powerful entis..

In my mind, if you think it is an exploit, it probably is.

If it takes more than 3 seconds to do and requires ''clever use of ingame mechanics'' then its an exploit.

Also, if the community frowns upon it, then it can also be considered an exploit.

On my 80 warrior, I frown upon being stun locked until death by a rogue far better geared than me, and easily able to whoop my ass regardless, due to the fact I have 0 resil. Stun locks must be exploiting, yeah? Because from what I can tell from forum posts, I'm not alone in my frowning upon it.

Also, Llare is completely correct. Twinking is, in it's purest essence, an exploit. Blizz certainly didn't, as you say, go into a meeting one day and say, 'Hey, let's let some low level people get enchants that they normally would not have until 60 so they can go around owning newbies in the BGs!' 'Great Idea, Bob!'

So, when you play a twink, (which, considering this is a twinking blog, I would assume you do) why complain about people using exploits when you, knowingly or unknowingly, are using them yourself?

Just my two copper on the subject.

What about this from blizzard; "You can also spend some money to equip your low level character with powerful weapons and equipment to give yourself an edge."

I'm sure they was aware of what you could do with those 60 enchants since they had no level limit.

I'll chime in whenever the fishing stuff comes up.

the poles once obtained will be at the same lvl of OPness as enti's imo. Something should be done about this. but with most of all the problems blizz won't fix it until it actually becomes a problem unfortunately.

the hat I think they should just leave as is.

You cant define if something is legit or not by just considering whether its easy to get or if its too OP, you have to consider both.

I think everyone can agree that entis was in no way legit, despite being easy to obtain, it broke the bracket. However leg armours and librams were also easy to obtain, however not many people would argue against them, atleast not very strongly.

If something breaks the bracket, either by making one class hideously OP (eg entis) or by making a huge rift between those with an item and those without (eg WBFH) i would consider them to not be legit.

1. Bug exploit has the word 'bug' in it zimt :D

2. Enti's never broke the bracket, I never once lost to a warrior using it on my rogue, though I never fought anyone who had it on a character on than that and hunter lol.

3.New fishing hat has to go, its not a big buff, but you are creating a serious gap between twinks who are new and don't have anything in their headslot as of yet.

I think Fleeform from Bloodlust Represent on Madoran MIGHT have a pole already, he was hitting 700+ non crit mauls in bear form last time i saw him in wsg.
