Staff of Broken Hopes - Item - World of Warcraft

Yes It's clear staff of broken hopes is a SOLID upgrade in everything, but the proc is something to consider from the leg i have a warlock with both of these (destruction) so i'd thought i'd get a discussion going on here, to confirm my decision on which staff to use,

Example of why i think the leg has a strong fight

Chaos Bolt has HIT you for 100,000
Dragonwrath(Proc) has HIT you for 100,000

Thats 200k of a player's life in 1 Single cast (thats ASUMING it does proc)

chaos bolt has hit you for 150,000
this is a solid 100% hit from broken hopes,

but you also have to consider, DoT damage, which has a damage to proc the leg also the 3 gem slots (give a very very tiny small amount of extra power/resil if gemmed that way)

I strongly believe for a affliciation or a shadow priest bursting, if that staff proced it would be a insanely high amount of damage

Thoughts?

Also Mages, spriests for this discussion (might make 1 of those 2) xD

It depends really on what the proc rate of Dragonwrath is. Most of these kind of items have an internal cooldown. For example the internal cooldown for most trinkets that have a proc chance is 45seconds afaik. For weapons and this weapon in particular I have no idea. I do however know that if your ability that is copied didn't crit, the copied spell can still crit. But it would definiatly be interesting to see some numbers on this.

The proc chance is 9-10% with no ICD

also consider if you are a class such as an afflic lock, where you have so many dots, you could stack haste up the ass, for faster ticks which indeed would take someone's health down faster and increase the effectivness on the staff, by procing more often

So looks like staff of broken hopes would be BiS xD

i was going to make an asumption "staff dancing" depending on the spell you are casting would work but eh.

Well, you could always use the staff for a moment of "MY healer is dead, and This guy is full HP the only way to WIN now, is if this staff proced" xD

my m8 is working on the staff on his shammie, cant wait to see how many lightning bolt's he can get with it plus VPLG =P

100% mastery = (double attack) Echo of the elements talent = (double attack) Legendary staff = (double attack) Trinket = (Double attack)

RUN FROM ELEMENTAL SHAMANS!!!

Your title confused me, I thought this was a discussion on casters legs vs a staff that breaks people hopes and possibly their dreams too.

So it is Finialized, staff of broken hopes is Better then the legendary in all ways (unless knowing the leg would proc which you can't)

Issue is that with affliction, 416s were already better than the stave for PvP. In PvE, pretty sure 10% damage is better than the SP the staff provides.
(this quote meant to say the SP the 442 provides, but whatever)

I wouldn't say it's as clear cut. Some classes will end up with a better combo, but the orange is very powerful.
