Dear F2P Arena Players

Freeranged

Legend
It has come to my attention that the F2P arena players have migrated away from AP to Korgath Ally.

I applaud your efforts to build a community based around the WoW arena. As you know, I am a huge proponent of the arena system, particularly for F2P. I'm a R1 glad myself, so getting as many people to enjoy that aspect of the game (without the nuisance of a monthly payement) was a big priority for me.

Whoever decided to move to Korgath ally - why? Why would you fracture an already tiny, growing community to feed your selfish AGM and LFH needs? Why would you kill off the biggest contender for the F2P community for no reason other than to get away from the AP chat? Why would you be that dense?

i don't understand where ur going with this if you say you agree with it then you don't, but you should just read the main thread in my sig, and not much people here care for lfh or agm, or at least some people i know and myself.

I always wondered this, it seems a lot of people who moved to Korgath already had characters on AP and from what i've seen from Purse's and swagcleavics videos, arena was pretty popular. I guess they just wanted a fresh start on a new server.

If anything korgath has shed more light on the arena scene in f2p, some people dont even know that you can wargame on a f2p. I like to think korgath inspires others to arena on their own servers, and maybe one day we'll meet others in skirmish matches if they ever come out (fingers crossed), or xrz arena each other like we do with many servers including AP so i mean we get more people to do arenas imo. The point of the server is to get arenas going as much as we can, AP is known for their premades and we'd like to be known for our arenas.

lol... You became a politician when I wasn't looking.

As much as one might try and polish that "gem" of a realm, it still doesn't make any sense to divide all of us up. I mean i can get why someone might wanna play alone from time to time, but if people wanna talk community, the larger the community, the larger your pool of players for the arena.

Even if you were to argue quality over quantity, (which I don't think anyone has done yet, but I'm just saying it in advance) you would still have the same issue of a very small base interested in a relatively narrow portion of the game.

This is going to fail like all the other "special" servers. It takes a large pool of players to keep an f2p server alive, which is why AP is the perfect server as is. AP all the way.

That being said, Stein, I wish you all the best.

This thread is full of aids. I rarely completely debase a thread, but this one deserves it.

1. Any player who left AP did it willingly, and understood that they would be doing so. Your own selfish desires for AP to be the largest server are glaringly obvious.

2. Many Korgath alliance players still play on AP. Your point is invalid :) #closethread .

3. Arena isn't a narrow fraction of the game for the players who CHOSE TO MAKE ARENA CHARACTERS ON KORGATH. That would be considered a large part of their intention, seeing as how it is an arena server :) In regards to splitting up a community, what gives you the right to such a community? Refer to point #1 .

4. No intellectual approach to examining Korgath has been put forth in this thread. Just people qqing about splitting up a community. This is borderline flaming, please close. Thanks

MMO with multiple servers. Better to let them play as they choose, whether it fails or succeeds than try to call out a community; it was their decision. A thread like this won't accomplish anything more than offending people.

Your community exists because of this community. You met other F2P and had the ability to come together because of the efforts of TI and Yasueh. This community has officially chosen AP as their host server. What gives you the right to such a community? You don't seem to respect the shoulders of the giants you stand on :)

These "giants" can speak for themselves you know! Close this crap.

Internet communities are groupings of individuals dedicated to enjoying the presence of each other and (in our case) game play.

Your argument is so inherently flawed that I am going to take a moment (once again) to point them out:

The players (who have FREE WILL) decided to make ALTERNATE (this is a wonderful word, sometimes shortened to "alt", which means that they are allowed to play characters on both servers) characters so that they could play on what THEY believe to be an optimal arena server.

Please, please, please note that this does not mean that Korgath is "better" for arenas, but rather that players (who ONCE AGAIN are individuals, and have the option to choose where they spend their time) chose to make Korgath their home due to a myriad of reasons. Which reasons? Probably to avoid a chat full of premade clatter, but that's just my (and apparently everyone else's) opinion.

So to clarify, (tl;dr, if you will):

Free Will (Can do whatever they want to do)
Alternates (Can play on both servers)
Flaming Thread (What you just created)

While it may not be good for the overall level of skill on AP.. Horde side has been pretty swamped with players. It's my understanding that many have given AP Alliance some love and attention as well. With 30-50 players on at peak times it's rare to see anything like the great conversations I remember from Cataclysm. Although as one poster pointed out, It's possible I've romanticized Cata a bit. :D

Think of it as population control. Many of the players who have not rolled alts on Korgoth can now get a little extra attention as they improve. AP used to be pretty tight-knit, I'd love to see that again.

I've got friends on every major server hub and I don't resent them for playing off AP. People will do as they wish and like minds will congregate. It's all good.
