Dealing with rogues

Lamperouge

Legend
Hey guys,

I've been playing 70 for a fairly long time, i've got a full decked out Disc priest and a warrior/hunter in the stables - but i've just finished leveling my druid to 70 and sure its not fully geared but i consider it to be better geared than most guys in BGS [read i've socketed and enchanted everything i've got] and i think i hold my own pretty good against most classes, palas, warriors, dks, priests, hunters go down pretty easy for me - i've got some problems with some locks and mages, but what's really destroying me are the Rogues. especially sub ones - they hurt like hell, i'm at 20-40% before i get out of the first stun rotation if i'm not dead already. any tips and tricks? anything would be helpful really since i've only played 70 druid for 1-2 days...

cheers.

Depending on what spec you are, you shouldn't be losing to a sub rogue.

Resto should have no problem, even in just 5/5 brutal, just outheal him until he necks himself.

Feral you should only lose if you're bad, sorry to say it, you have bash, maim, pounce w/ the opener. Then (assuming you know your stuff, glyphed it) insta root him and hot, throw in a few faerie fires to block his vanish and force a cloak.

Forcing his cloak will mean that once DRs are down, you get a full root on him, allowing you to HoT up.

Faerie Fire again, dash away, get restealth and opener while he's out in the open.

DoT him, then /lol.

If you've decided to go balance then I suggest you neck yourself.

yes i'm feral atm, and yes this i just hit 70 so i might be a little "bad" when executing my play - but just a question; you name lots of good skills for control;

pounce; from my first post you should've gathered that i meant that they got the jump on me so pounce is out of the question (if i get the jump on a rogue they're obviously dead in a pounce, rake, mangle, TF, rip, kite rotation)

maim: so as i explained im down to 20-40% hp when i get out of the first stun rotation, this however does not mean the rogue stops everything and let me enjoy downtime, NO, if i go catform and try to get a combo point of for a 1-2sec maim i'm dead before it lands.

bash; yes, this is prolly your only valid point. it is the bash that should save me. in a 5sec stun i've got a few choices; i could then go 1-2sec maim stun or i could try to stack some dots, thing is after 5 secs even if i got my dots up i'll get pinched down in the second stun and die since i will only have gotten up to 50-60% hp and be good as dead...

and insta roots i won't talk about cuz they're riddiculous in your argument, because you don't seem to grasp that ill be dead before cloak ends...

sir...do you know your stuff?

sounds like you still need to get geared

many cat druids, pop thorns and go bear when fighting a rogue. as soon as you pop bear you are like a rock, swipes, bash, hopefull proc some auto heals from critting and then hit refrenzied regen. more than likely rogue will have to disengage fight and try again later

As resto:

How much resilience are u at?

Are u talking about duels? If duels then just run around in bear form (incase he pops shd durin garrote), pop barkskin directly after garrote silence (try to get a rejuv up too if the rogue is stupid), then after kidney rejuv swiftmend war stomp regrowth and u should be good. U can also trinket if u think u soaked too much damage to survive the full kidney, then he will have to retri and u better hope u dont get that eviscerate crit on u next time :p While silenced, use this macro:

#showtooltip Travel Form

/cancelaura Travel Form

/cast Travel Form

It will let u get distance and the ability to turn ur back away from him. Pop bearform 1 sec from silence end cause u dont wanna be in the kidney without hots or bear form. Be sure to use engineering haste gloves if u have them after u get out of kidney, pop a rejuv and a switmend u should be cool from there on and kill him with thorns/tree form dps. If u like to pop cooldowns in duel u can also just treeform after the garrote and spam regrowth as soon as u get out of kidney. My rogue from 3v3 stacks agi mostly and he doesn't win duels against me and hes got 2.7k exp on his main using fuked up shadowstep kick macros, killing them can be nasty but after they lost their prep&vannish u can root them, treeform up and spam wrath or just kill them slow with ur dots and I go kitty form (only if u have barkskin and trinket left) to put a rake and 2 cp rip. (Will stop him from wastingusing cloak on ur moonfire and swarm so u can just have free dot ticking for the duration. Also use thorns then)

In arena u wanna start of in kitty, dash to his teammate and get combat asap(if ur dps tagged the rogue's teammate just put a hot on ur dps and ull be in too its a nice trick to keep u out of range.) After u get combat just prehot everything including ur teammate's pet if he has one. First rejuv on everyone then 3 lifeblooms on self then even a wild growth if u can afford the mana cost.

In BG u just keep hots all the time if u come against 3 good players who are geared 1v3 ur dead even with hots, u can outlast like 6 retards (if poppin cds) thinking they cool cuz they have ungemmed brutal gear...

As feral I had pretty much no luck vs rogues, since it is silly to stack full resi atm because agility weighs trough too hard (wtf stacking resi vs rogues by previous posters hahaha like 60% dodge isn't fucked up op). Rogue always gets sap, start in bear get lacerate pop berserk spam mangle get bash if u get in his back, u can not afford it being dodged. Trinket blind if ur not dead yet, pop surv instincts right after u get out of stuns, barkskin earlier ofc. Don't use frenzied regen its fucking shit now.

Good luck

I loled at ur post, faerie fires out of forms? Root a rogue? What the fuck man hes got like 4 ways to remove ur root u think he will stand there and do nothing lmfao what kind of rogues do u duel to? Run with entangling roots? How about grasp would be a thousand times better and he would still cloak it and rape ur ass in those 5 seconds...

Stacking Resilience as Feral is viable.

Just saiyan.

Maybe it is now, but I highly doubt even if my lock got interrupted all the time, or he sits on me whole match we would lose against a feral with 600+ resi, I have like 450 resi not the best gear, I eat priests but a good pala/shammy/druid is no match for me.

And besides feral is going to be so dead in this bracket after the patch, just drop it. Druid is already shit without any cc but bash and roots, now they are taking instant roots and nerfing feral/balance shapshifting. I don't think feral has a nice future ahead on 70
